Most the stuff Blane listed will probably be good, me and him tend to have similar taste. EDIT: I would also say not Bleach or Naruto, but that's a personal hate. Your mileage may vary.

Although I enjoyed the original movie and the sequel immensely, I find the series and Solid State Society are much better because of the greater character development and more interesting story lines (Laughing Man and the Individual Eleven anyone?). I suggest you watch the series and SSS first, and then maybe the movies.

It would likely deserve a place on my recommendations list.

Imagine waking up with no memory, being enlisted in some sort of armed conflict in a school to stave off obliteration, and being told that conforming with society is the easy road to obliteration.
