Unfortunately a forum is only as good as its moderating team.
Flaming is allowed to go on.
A "rage section" idea has been turned down.
And no one seems to care...which seems to be the attitude of CCP altogether concerning their game and their community.
I started a test forum where the flaming can be controlled but no one is interested.

I like your forum! Nice and quiet :-)
I've not experienced CCP's lack of care but it makes sense looking through the official forum. Crazy amounts of flaming. It's really not pleasant, and creates clutter. Also I'm guessing it's been years since the forums have been rearranged, so many sticky threads that are totally out of date it's really stagnated.
CCP have an amazing game, I think they're forgetting what they did to get it like that.

It's just that emoteenrage wich doesn't exist in real life anymore.
Teens nowadays just use drugs and play games in their small tiny hole in downtown and tax payers are paying everything for them.

If memory serves me right it was rearanged (to remove the clutter) in 2008. They merged a few forums, killed a few and moved GD below New citizens, which led to much forum rage. Seems we always need to rage about something. 
What would help them more, but god knows when they'll ever going to change that is a new forum. This piece of crap is so outdated its not funny anymore, I mean a egyptian mummy looks better.
A new forum where we could quickly denote what threads are crap and which not for example.
But I'll guess next window opening for that will be in 18 months....

The only thing that has changed is that the majority have lowered their tolerance of idiots.
This manifests itself more agressive forum responces.
Case in point, I had to resist the urge to tell you to HTFU and used my remaining tolerance for today to type this.
So i'm sure the people I work with will thank you for this.
I suppose this must be my sig. I'll do something cool with it eventually. |

My theory is that most intelligent people are leaving the forums because it is getting worse everyday.
When intelligent people leave, it gets worse.
It's hard to fight trolls and the bandwagon.
