I am about to respec my attributes to get recon 5 logistic 5 and to cross train from Caldari to Amarr to fly guardians. I have Caldari BS 4 already. I have another toon I want to make a carrier pilot so this is going to be a dread pilot. I can get to Caldari easier than anything. Amarr is next. What dread should I train for. The extra training time is only a few weeks for Gal or Minnie. So training time is probably a tie breaker.

So that fact that I want advice on which it the best dread to train for so I can fly it a year from now means I am going to instantly lose it? I know that there is a clear opinion as to which carrier is best. Thanny for dps and Archon for repping. I have heard that dreads are all pretty much the same. I am looking for comments before I train.

IMO its Pretty Clear ranking as well,
Rev/Amarr is best since it has massive Tank and better DMG Do to its 1 More Low Slot, also its amazing because in nowadays Fleet fights everyone is bringing Caps with massive support fleets so the Lag monster wins, this means Ammo swapps and switching targets is severely effected, thus making the Rev ahead of the Pack, no reloads, and insta ammo swap.
IMO the next best by far is the Phnx/Cald since Arm gangs win nowdays in large fleet fights usually shield tankers are at a disadvantage but since "Siege Mode" Means you are all alone and cant get Reps while in it, it nullifies that disadvantage in most situations, Also once more the heavy slot layout to one side or another makes it a stronger tanker/ganker in most formats.
Gal is not worth it IMO because If im gonna go down the Arm tanking Path why not get the Best Fleet Rec In game Period.
Best Fleet sniper, RR BS and Brawler. Best Sniper Hac, Best Logi. Best Carrier, Best MOM [IMO], Best Dread. Armor=Amarr eve nsounds liek it 
Also the Moros`s range is awkward 19k Optimal so for Pos Bashing never in OPT range, Rails suck and like I said before slot layout tends to favor picking more mids for shield more lows for Arm.
From what I hear [but no exp with] Nag/Minni isnt very good for same reasons slot layout is bad and makes it worse than a Phoenix with missles and worst than others with guns.

All the above pretty much covers it.
With regards to the Nag, you'd need to train Missile and Projectile skills up. No issue for Matar pilots already trained but a problem for others as like the other split weaponry Minnie ships they are a lot more skill intensive to be effective (like the Phoon for example)
The additional turret over all other dreads, but split weapon system, effectively means it potentially has one of the highest damage outputs, but at the cost of using additional damage mods and sacrificing EHP, plus requiring a greatly extended training queue.
Getting qualified to pilot any of those hulls is not as big an issue as actually qualifying for all of the weaponry, tanking type and mods (Rev & Moros Armour, Phoenix and Nag Shield). Id review that before making any commitments.

As someone around here said a few weeks ago, "all nags, revs, and moros start shooting the primary, all phoenix's start shooting the secondary"
Revs are apparently in most demand right now for the biggest alliances due to instant dmg, awesome armor tank and flexibility.
Every dread has it's niche though.
