Such as the fact that your client knows the position of every ship in system at all times even cloaked ones
Bull****.
True actually. There is a python injection floating around to give you the dev/GM system scanner. One scan and all ships in the system are listed regardless of cloak status and you can warp to them instantly. So the client is given a lot more data from the server than it actually shows.
Even if you somehow could get a dev/gm interface (im not convinced), that doesnt prove the information on cloaked ships is stored on the client. The gm interface could query the server to gather that information, which shouldnt be possible without somekind of authing system that checks if the requesting account is a gm/dev. x |

What they said is correct. The positions of all space ships in your system are stored in memory. the client just by default doesnt show you everything. They should fix this and only send the information to the client right when it becomes relevant, but that would propably increase server load and client lag. |

Originally by: Zeba Eve only uses one core and it barely uses that one as it is. The eve client is simply a dumb display terminal that handles no logic as the servers do all calculations. Now if you want you can assign multiple clients to different cores but tbh your not really getting any boost from doing so.
You are correct, the client is extremely light and uses hardly any resources. Frankly, I wish ccp would change the rules so that players were allowed to edit or import their own sprites and effects. Then I would just make some way better more polished graphical effects to that the game doesn't look so much like second life when your in a fleet battle.
Bleh and the ship textures look like they were made in Ms paint. One of the reasons I stoped playing wow was because they refused to improve the graphics beyond the quality of a compressed jpg.
Because editing game files and textures is not permissible I have been postulating an alternative solution that works at the memory level and external replaces what is seen in game with the better textures without actually changing any game files. However this is a very difficult and impractical way to solve a problem that really should not exist. "My name is legion, for we are many" |
