I have done a search, but to no avail , so i thought i would ask here.
I am using an improved command centre and it only allows me to make 30 routes.
If i upgrade to a bigger better command centre, will i be able to make more than 30 routes ?

Click submit then make more routes. You are limited to 30 per submit button, not 30 total.

I use advanced cc's and I'm pretty sure I have much more than 30 routes on them, especially the production one with 18 processors, 3 pads and 1 storage.
Actually, coming to think of it, it's a minimum of 3 routes per t2 processor (back and forth), 4 routes per t3 and 4 routes for the t4, making a total of
9*3+3*4+1*4 = 43 routes. Plus 2*4 for the t1 processors i've placed there (because I had cpu and grid left), that's a total of 51 routes. Minimum. I know I have more.
If you mean LINKS, dunno. But then you should ask for links, not routes. If you run out of links you're probably doing it wrong.

Why so many routes? I use Advanced CC, and have never hit 30.

12 extractors dumping to spaceport and then half-a-dozen processors with ins and outs. Even if you are doing some advanced, that is only 3 more... 27?
Now think about a processor only planet where you have 18-20 advaced processors and a high tec. 3 routes per for the 2 ins and the one out. Actually, some have 3 ins and an out.
