Ms. Neferis,
I found myself in a dive bar, light years from the main trading lanes. I like to find small, out of the way places to relax. There were several other patrons that also liked the quieter bars such as this, one of them caught my eye. She was a Caldari, like me, but she looked scary and hard, like the personification of a knife.
She threw a glass at the bartender, ôHow much did I pay for this swill?' the scary woman yelled. I debated finding another spot when I noticed a familiar face walk in. My employer's daughter, Punx Evangeline, or I suppose Evangeline Torpedo if the rumors were true.
Evangeline sneaked up behind the scary woman and leaned over to whispered something in her ear.
I saw the color drain from the Caldari as she turned to face Evangeline, ôI'm not your pet anymore, Mistress,ö the woman replied. Then Evangeline did something I never would have expected - she leaned over and kissed the woman on the lips!
ôOf course you are, you will always be my pet,ö Evangeline asserted.
ôNot as long as I owe money to Spearfish, I'm not,ö the Caldari responded.
Evangeline just smiled that friendly little smile she usually has. ôSpearfish just bartered for your release from bondage, I still own you. Face the truth, my pet, you desire me. That is a stronger bond than any leather strap.ö she said, stroking the woman's arm.
ôEven if I do, you're married to that egotistical prick!ö the woman responded, looking down at her arm nervously.
Evangeline laughed again, ôSo?ö she said with mirth, ôI think he rather enjoyed it when I had you tied to our bed.ö
ôI wish we'd been alone together, instead of insisting that he be allowed to use me! I only wanted you!ö
Evangeline stroked the woman's chin, ôI know, my pet,ö she said pleasantly, ôBut your desires are unimportant compared to mine. You will learn that, while I train you,ö. Evangeline straightened up, ôNow, you will meet me on the 'Inde' this weekend and you better not be wearing boyish clothes again, understood?ö
The woman turned back to her drink, ôDon't bank on my being there,ö she said darkly.
Then I saw Evangeline smile the most evil smile I've ever seen from such a petite redhead. ôYou will be there. If I have to send people to fetch you, I will be forced to punish you severely.ö she said in an icy tone.
The woman whirled around, ôSpearfish would never allow it!ö she declared, her eyes narrowed.
ôAnd why do you think Spearfish will save you from your fate?ö
ôBecause I owe her money! Lot's of money!ö the woman said, clearly on edge.
ôI will take care of that, you just worry about being on the 'Inde',ö Evangeline said, leaning over to kiss the Caldari woman before she left.
The woman turned back to her drink and growled at the bartender, ôgimme another drink, now!ö
I sat back and repeated the scene through my head. Did that really just happen? There is no way a former Free Captain just claimed ownership over that woman. Did she?
My fears were confirmed a few hours later. The woman, now very drunk, answered her Vidphone. From my place I could hear the woman speaking from the other end, ôTanita Pearl, this is Spearfish. Your debt with me is now owed to Evangeline Torpedo, we are done.ö Tanita howled with rage and threw the phone against the wall, shattering it into a thousand pieces. She then got up and stamped out, a murderous look on her face.
