Today we have been experiencing some issues with people getting blank pages instead of properly accessing the EVElopedia. This is currently being looked into and will be fixed as soon as we can.
Some players have reported that the disruption was temporary. So if you find a blank page please try again and know that we are aware of the problem and are working on a solution.

You can't complain that they don't fix **** and then ***** when they do.
Cut out the nonsense, you're acting like a child.
If you'd read the devblogs for yourself, you would see there is a lag team, there are not 18 lag teams, which would likely make it take longer than it is now. TO CCP: The implicit promise of polished quality keeps me playing through the rough times. Don't let the Trolls keep you from your goals. |

I will overlook your ignorant statement as a result of the huge solar tsunami that hit earth today.
And the issues with Evelopedia is also caused by solar activity

One of the webservers hosting EVElopedia went all spiffy, and its monitoring also went all spiffy (this is my translation of technical terms relayed to me). Our other webservers were fine so about 1/3 of our users had issues with blank screens which included me in the middle of some updates I was doing.
Now the bug has bit and we are having some issues with the new authentication we installed on the pedia (to bring it into line with the rest of our websites). This will be resolved within the next hour.
My apologies for the hassle, you can still view all the articles but might not be able to login for a short while.
Thanks, CCP Ginger.

Interesting. I was not aware that the sartorial state of a server was significant.

I wonder if it is related to the fact that EVE-O has gone down too?
Did no one set up the solar umbrellas to keep off the solar storm? :P ----- All men can see these tactics whereby I conquer, but what none can see is the strategy out of which victory is evolved. |

My hours are pretty long atm thanks :) We fixed the intial issue but another reared its ugly head and were working on fixing that. Basically if you login to the game EVElopedia chucks an error on login.
The technical dudes are looking into getting this sorted. If we cant get a fix today im going to get them to roll it back. Im not the a technical dude though, so I could get in their and try to fix it but you wouldnt want that mate.
Sorry for the issues everyone, but were on it.

Confirming as a MW / PHP Dev myself... Given the extreme similarity between the wiki (PHP), and EVE (A video game, python and c++), if they would just give me 10 mins to whack at EVE's codebase, I'd have lag solved.
(Lag is solved, if the server won't start anymore, right?)

Also confirming that as a PHP/SQL developper I could easily fix lag in 20 mins (I'm only half as awesome as Daquaris) if I had access to Eve code & infrastructure. So wth is up with 18 months ??
Oh yeah and thanks CCP for fixing that login problem.

Jurassic park is a pretty good movie. I like the scene where the T-Rex eats Jeff Goldblum.
Also EVElopedia works as well as my girlfriend's pocket rocket minus the batteries.
I.E. I still get pages with nothing on them. Should I petition this (lol)?

Yes. CCP care about the evolopeadia more than eve. Ensure that their progress is slowed by logging in and editing in massive inaccuracies. Simple little posts such as: "When a pilot who has a positive security standing enters low security or null-space (0.0) they are given their own effective system security level. The forumlae for determining this personal effective security level (PFESL) is remarkably simple: Personal Security Status + System Status = PFESL. If a pilots PFESL is equal to 5.0 or higher they are effectively in high security space and Concord will respond accordingly to any acts of aggresion against these pilots."

No idea if it is related or not: I noticed the character pictures in the forum are missing every now and then. The reason for that is that the web-server returns a 500 for roughly every other request. So maybe one or more of the character picture web-servers went "all spiffy" too.

Yeah, the webserver is kinda coughing and puffing and breaking down it seems. That, or you downgraded it, or twice as many users are on it all of a sudden.
By the way, could you guys just, for the love of HTTP, fire those darn MS monkeys and get a few actual web developers that know how to operate a proper LAMP, or better; BAMP server and integrate that into your system ?
For some reason it really hurts my eyes to see '.asp' in the URL. Yeah, I could modrewrite that .. I know.
Honestly tho, I guess 'back then' it was the easy solution, but I dare to say that you would need a system with half the specs of your current system when you upgrade to a proper web environment. MS is not such a thing.

Getting pretty sick of alt-****ers complaining about lag in every thread possible. Please quit playing Eve. Plenty of us will remain.
I do not want your stuff, I have my own.
