Edited by: cyndrogen on 05/08/2010 06:48:05 So a favorite past time on eve has been killing carebears mining or hauling goods. I would like to suggest a color coded system for those who kill carebears. The more carebear kills the pinker your ship color becomes, reflecting the true wussie nature of your gameplay cause lets face it you can't kill an armed ship so you pick easy soft carebear targets. The ultimate ship color for those who kill carebears should be rainbow. When you kill a certain number of carebears, miners haulers and other defensless craft you reach the ultimate reward a rainbow colored ship.
I would pay extra to see this feature implemented for the endless amusement it would bring.
Also pirates would hunt the rainbow ships for sport which I think is just awesome!

This is more of a suggestion for killboards and the like, rather than something in-game.
I would love to see statistics on battle clinic that show how often the kills a person gains are full combat with other armed ships, ganking industrials or defenseless people, or kills that involve rats doing most of the damage.
As it is now, people are receiving the same credit and renown for things that require very little skill compared to others who are actually good at combat.

Edited by: cyndrogen on 05/08/2010 06:57:39 This is actually a really great idea, your stats should not be based on brute force kills but more based on complexity just like everything else in eve. Killing a pilot who has not been podded in years would increase your rank up the ladder faster then 100000 noob ship kills. We need a better system for rankings I totally agree. I was half joking about the rainbow colored ships but I think it would be funny to see someone with 9000 kills and rainbows all around their avatar instead of the WANTED tag. Lets not kid yourself you're not a badass for killing noobs or carebears, sorry.

This will have to be balanced as there are many people out there who would gank their own alts to jump up the ladder and inflate their killboard-peen!

Lol, supported. KB balance is sorely needed. Not just based on ship class (as in t3 counting more than rookie ship), but also player being killed. Popping hardcore pvper with lots of kills under the belt should give a bigger boost than a carebear. Takes more work to kill, get a bigger reward on kb.
Rainbow looks nice too.

Unlikely. Not much profit looting noob ships. And I doubt anyone who found themselves on the forum still fly noob ships.

We kill carebears for two reasons
1) Easy isk.
Carebears often carry in their hold or fit mods that are worth a lot to other carebears.
2) To ruin your ****ing day
Even if we dont get the drops, we know we've just **** in someones cornflakes.

This is exactly my point , killing a CB is EASY! I mean wow you must be a rocket scientist to figure out that shooting a ship without guns will be easy to kill, brilliant mate!
Hey if you love ****ting in cornflakes and killing noobs more power to ya, eve is a sandbox game and you should play it any way you like, if you're a tear farmer so be it!
What would be great to see though is a coward board too, people who gank and prey on soft targets do not belong in the same class as real pvp players. Also there is a difference in outlaw class too we should have rewards both types of outlaws. It's the difference between Jesse James and Robert Ford, both were outlaws but one was a coward.

Eve-Online, putting the sensual in non-consensual since May 2003.
Blowing up easy targets should never, and never will, be penalised in Spreadsheets-Online.
If you DON'T want to LOSE it, DON'T UNDOCK with/in it.
Your idea will only be accepted so that pirates can have pink ships. That's all. And they'll be glad to keep owning you in pink ships too. It won't humiliate them, in fact, YOU got pwnt by a pink ship. What does that make YOU look like?

I think it would be hilarious to see a rainbow ship of death.

Why would we need a coward board? Am I supposed to ignore someone mining in a hulk in lowsec? Someone undocking from jita with 5 bil in their hold? An 8 week old toon ratting in a domi?
Just because I will go out of my way to blow up a hulk doesn't mean i'm unwilling to fight someone that cant fight back - it just means that I had the opportunity to blow someone up at that point in time. And you never pass that up.

Ofcourse not! I'm not suggesting that you ignore them at all. Think of it like a trophy, you kill a carebear you get a pink ship, why is that so offensive? It's funny and I would love to see it since eve already has a good sense of humor, imagine a bunch of rainbow ships in Jita.
Maybe my sense of humor is just odd but I think it would be hilarious!
I would actually go and hunt miners if I could get a rainbow ship. Don't get me wrong I like the ships fine the way they are now but this would be an addition purely for LOL factor.

Why should tear farmers rank higher than real pvpers on kb? A coward board, or whatever you'd call it, sounds like a good idea. Go compete with your own kind on the other board if that's your thing. Just don't cheapen and dilute the kb ranks of real pvpers that they worked hard for with your batches of tear harvest.

? Who said anything about higher rankings? It would be an addition to the killboard anoter division to separate the hardcore killers and the cheap basters who gank defensless ships.
If you bothered to read the thread you would have found out that 9000 carebare kills would not even come close to killing a single 2003 player who has not been killed in two years. In other words the more difficult the kill the higher the ranking of the kill, killing carebares would not at all improve your stats or rank you higher, which is how it's currently setup. It would simply make you rainbow colored to show you cowardice to all of eve. Carebare kills are for those who dare not go up against real PVP players but instead choose the easy kill.

You're still not getting it.
Killing people is fun. Getting them to emorage is even better. Carebears will almost certainly emorage when you kill them, and sometimes have very expensive stuff with them that you can sell to other carebears.
I don't see why its cowardly to kill Some idiot faction fit tengu that is sitting still without his hardners on.
Its profitable, and even better, it ruins their ****ing day.
The fact that I wont pass up an easy target does not mean that I will run from a decent fight. The two are not related at all.

He is clearly insecure about his sexuality. I vote we form a phobos gang and follow him around without shooting for a few hours.
