Don't think it'll be big enough, nego.
Still, I'd pay for it, if it includes artwork by the same artist who did the ISD potw's and the lil header art.

Just write your stories guys, then present them to CCP, if they like they like, if they don't they don't.

Very cool, although I have a comment on how CCP expands EVE's background... Here, we have the beginning of a novel that adds some detail to EVE's universe. This is cool, like the EVE Chronicles, because you can read about how "real" people (NPCs, civilians, etc.) in EVE behave and live. We only interact with them through the game's interface, which reduces them down to what they represent (an agent, a pirate, etc.).
The problem is that background and game are apart. You have the game on one side, and a great background on the other side (chronicles, short stories, etc.). I don't think it'd be really complicated to integrate the background in the game. Just give the NPCs (agents, convoys, etc.) some "useless talk" window or something. In offline RPGs (Final Fantasy, Ultima, etc.), you can talk to NPCs and most of the time they only have one or two things to tell you - some background info about what they think about the King or a little story about that time they were mugged on the main road. It's just unimportant stuff - it doesn't lead to actual game features (sometimes quests, but that's all) - but it adds to the immersion.
In the case of the "Ruthless" story, you could scatter a few facts from Gariushi's story among Ishukone agents. They would be able to say stuff like "hey, did you know that [insert fact]". You could even have Ishukone's competitors' agents to tell some other version of the story, one that would make Ishukone look bad.
Of course, after this, adding more "civilian" ships in empire space would help. It could even be used to advertise events on various scales!
Cool ideas for the game - New mission types - Group missions - Planets and the market |

Good story nice read but how about um how can one say the obvious in a not so mean way being you guys work so hard and do good things like this but my take.
WRITING CODE THAT FIXES BUGS AS OPPOSED TO NEEDLESS STORY TIME
Glad to see CCP staff putting time in where it's really needed. I mean we haven't had anything for over 3 monthes now as far as needless stories. All events were basically stopped. Every arc close and stopped without barealy ANY notice from staff in forums about what is going on with that stuff but yet you guys have time to write a full chapter about a fictional eve character that has almost nothing to do with any arc or anything going on. Or should I say WAS going on before everything came to a screetching halt for shiva err i mean exodus.
Nobody knows anything about what WAS going on before this halt for exodus. What happened to all the terrorists that were posted via the gallente terrorist hunt arc ..... that had a bunch of wanted pirates that as far as I know not one single one was caught and there was plenty of smaller arcs that were mid story. shut down. all info erased. characters deleted form player base.
Quality guys real real quality there.
the gallente election is supposedly closed when most didn't even know it was going on and figured it on hold like everything else. Weren't we supposed to be running missions for the candiates or something to that affect. did that ever happen?????
bugs and plenty of'em. again hate to be negative on something that really is a good thing but isn't there plenty of other things that seem to be squared away and updated first as opposed to giving us a new "story"
Apologize if I'm the only one that thinks this....... still a good story though

you are an idiot. do you expect professional writers to be able to write in python? just end yourself, you obviously have asolutely no ties to any sort of reality that humans have gotten used to. coders write code and fix bugs, aurora/hired writer/whoever wrote this obviously isn't involved in fixing code.
