Just a shout out to all those I know (yes I know long shot in this area of the forum) to hit me up in Starcraft 2. My username is Tank Ceo ID:909 (US Servers)
And for those who I killed in the past... if you like to get revenge on me than I challenge you to a 1v1 because that is the only way you'll get it since all I do ingame is train skills (sadly I wish I could come back to this great game, but just not now especially). Who am I kidding, you wouldn't get it ingame even if I did still fly actively.

I was hyped for it, but after watching the gameplay videos, I actually didnt want to buy it.
Not sure why. Perhaps because it was too similar to Star Craft 1. --

Why buy the game if you can just watch the walkthroughs somebody else made, this way seriously saving on both time and money at the same time ? Like these guys, for instance (in 720p no less). P.S. I won't even bother pirating the game _

I bought it, mostly since some friends were, wasn't expecting too much (overhyped game is overhyped, blizzard cash cow, supcom best rts eva, etc) but it's great fun, especially with friends when played online in leagues, been far too long since I played an RTS game competitively - makes it so much more rewarding when you actually win.
Singleplayer is decent for an RTS but that's not saying much. Quite a few grindy missions in there, but some fun ones too.
My #1 gripe is the region-locking stopping me from playing anyone from the US still worth the money though.

Not me.
I cannot stand RTS games. They have completely over-run and destroyed the strategy genre.
Gimme real strategy games like Victoria II, Commander: Conquest of the Americas, Hearts of Iron 3, Civilization V, Crusader Kings, and I'll gobble that **** up.
RTS? Yawn. Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

Already Pre-ordered!! Lets me download the Manual, Soundtrack + bonus track, a map (which is kinda useless but neat nonetheless) and a tech guide.
Unfortunately I'll be out of town next weekend, so I wont be able to play the day its released. :( Sarcasm - Because i'm too far away to strangle you. |

Not noticeably worse than that in the original Starcraft

Well, when I played the original, I was at best 14, and did not understand english all that much. Ah, the sweet forgetfullness. But honestly, that dialogue SUCKS.

When I played Starcraft a while after it first came out, I was in the 3rd year at the university (where most of my classes were in English), so I was sadly quite aware of how corny it all was. I never really liked Starcraft much, even before the hype machine.
Worse still, I had some previous minor brushes with Warhammer 40k, so that doubled the yuckness factor at the sight of the massive rip-off. That, plus Total Annihilation came out before Starcraft (and I played it A LOT), it was mostly original IP and played oh so much better in just about every possible way.

Zomg sc:fa is teh best multiplayer rts evah. I still regularly play ranked because it simply has the best 1 vs 1 pvp of any online game created.
Don't ask for this ones tag though.

I was thinking about it but the new battle net is a no-go for me personally. So I saved 60$ and just get SC1 out of the box for a bit. That game made me being late to the very 1st course at the university back then I've seen come co-workers play it and it looks like a fairly polished rts but nothing new. But then again so is every rts. Or do you know of anyone doing something revolutionary with rts?

I've been thinking about buying it, but ever since I got this house I don't make all that much money more than my cost of living. As such, I have to ration my game dollars carefully. With some of the lame things Actiblizzard has done with SC2 (such as no LAN games), it has been pushed further down my game priorities list. I'll probably get the expansion for Dragon Age before I get Starcraft 2, and before any of that I'll be picking up Elemental: War of Magic. For the latter, I loved Master of Magic back in the day (and, in fact, I still play it), so with Elemental being the closest any game has come to a Master of Magic 2, I'm most definitely going to pick it up when it comes out on August 24th. -Wrayeth n00b Extraordinaire "Look, pa! There are no public chat channels, these were nice places places to hang and chat back with Diablo 2. The games is bound to my account forever. After beind done with my games I borrowed the disks some of friends to play the games. I can't play with my friends that are living around the globe. No more spawn installation. That was a very useful LAN feature for starcraft. Not battle.nets fault though.

Yea, no chat channel is a real let down, but they are being implemented in the upcoming months. Not being able to connect to other servers around the globe is a HUGE let down for me... It seems as if they went backwards with battle.net with not having these simple features that were available back in SC BW... I have so many friends that I know overseas, and I am not able to play with them what so ever... I feel isolated. No LAN also sucks but I understand their move due to pirates. Sadly enough it doesn't stop pirates from playing their Single player... there was a crack 8 hours after release.. working too.
But that didn't stop me from buying the game I waited for for over 10 years heh.. Maybe from petitions they will at least implement a way to connect to other servers around the globe, and at least be able to play custom maps.

Huzzah. Total Annihilation was and still is my most favorite strategy game of all time. Runner-up is Myth: The Fallen Lords.
Edit: I opted to not purchase on Starcraft 2. That kind of game never tickled my fancy. _________________________________________ Support the "Seed Primae on the market and ORE LP Stores" proposal! Click here |

Initially I was only going to watch walkthroughs on youtube for the "storyline", but the only one I found (the one linked above) was a guy that was a complete tool at gameplay so I couldn't stand to watch anymore after a while.
Borrowed it, played the single player on casual (while also mem-editing my minerals/vespgas to more than I could need in the later base missions, because I was getting impatient), finished it in just a few hours (almost half of which were cinematics), then deleted it.
Absolutely not interested in the multiplayer part, nor in skirmish mode. Why ? It's pretty much almost identical to the first one except for slightly different units and slightly better graphics... and I had enough of that to last me a lifetime about a decade ago. As usual, Starcraft graphics lag far behind what's considered "state of the art" at the game's release date - at least they're quite polished so you don't mind that much.

Because the walkthrough was too annoying (taking way too long, making too many mistakes, too many cuts in editing because of that, etc). That was the one and only reason I even bothered playing as opposed to just watching the walkthrough
P.S. No, wait, there was another teensy tiny reason. I had to keep manually switching to the next 10-minute video because the youtube playlist wasn't working properly, and they weren't labeled clearly, that was a bit annoying too.
