- You know, one of the things I despised about IRC (other than the loudmouth asshats demanding respect and the silly-ass rules and fines), was the fact that you could not swing a dead cat without hitting a spy smack in the forehead. So now that IRC is running with their tail between their legs, could we possibly get those spies to speak up and identify themselves?

I'm not very well informed about IRC. Have they been a threat to the NC?
Because I do know that Ev0ke, Cry Havoc. and allies have been conducting a fairly aggressive campaign against the NC, and so I'm wondering if they are starting something new without having completely dealt with the old problem? Wouldn't it be better to put an effort into attacking cloud ring?

I don't think I agree with that because as far as I know, the Cloud Ring residents lost what sovereignty they had in Pure Blind a few weeks ago. That means that, by means fair or foul, the NC (or atleast the section of people in and around Pure Blind), were able to have some success against the Cloud Ring folks. So wouldn't it be more strategically sound to use your resources to press on and try and eliminate the threat, rather than simply hold the line while you pour your resources on another, less dangerous front? (Again, this only means anything if the IRC were not invading, or just about to.)

I went, I saw - I was unimpressed.
One of my jumpclones was still in IRC space, so rather than read about their fail-cascade on the forums I decided to see for myself. And what I saw was sad, to say the least. All but one of the IRC members that were online (and damn few at that) were under seige in the E-BYOS outpost. Their enemies did not even bother to bubble the station, in the apparent hope that IRC would at least try to escape and give them something to shoot at.
The IRC fleet commander, such as it was, has decided on the 'let them get bored maybe they'll go away strategy' . . . which I doubt is going to work. I even communicated with Kamikazie, a notorious foul-up who has caused at least three corps to leave IRC that I am aware off . . . if anything this looney fuq'r has become even MORE delusional . . . promising victory while not only ignoring reality but attempting to blame his many failures on whoever is convienent or near to hand.
Who ever finally winds up owning the Drone Lands, let me know. IRC had a paradise and they ****ed it away, I think I could do better!

(BTW posting with an active alt because I disabled my main in protest of CCP's attitude towards the 0.0 player's grieves. Waiting for this one to expire too.)

Most succeses to be had were under ED FC's. With 1 or 2 exceptions, like Arphad who I still respect as an FC.

It was XIX that killed the previous incarnation of IRC, not the NC or the Goons (well, aside of the theft).
Only a few NC members were on it for turf, and they went back home when SOLAR entered the fray. IRC had some nice space in the south, plenty of pewpew there (I personally prefered ED's ZZ5 pocket).

Goons had nothing to do with the theft except as a cover which was blown when CCP got involved. Theft was direct result of accusing loyal alliance mates of plotting against the alliance. Nothing more, nothing less.
Oh and Kami, remember that in game eve mail you sent me about 8 months ago? Something about "thank you for helping to get us out of Etherium, now I have everything I want in Cobalt Edge"? Good times mate, good times. Oh hey, Eve Gate is awesome, heres that mail and I didn't even have to log in.

Not doing so good without ED as a bailiwick for the enemy to hurl themselves against pointlessly until realizing where the soft spot really was, are they?
The collapse in Etherium was actually much faster than a day or days. It was a matter of HOURS. As in, I'd been part of an op the night before run by our FC's that had succeed in putting us one system away from having all our space back (4 months after we were supposed to have been DEAD 2 weeks in) to orders of "GET YOUR **** OUT!!!" the next morning.
It was a bizarre, anticlimactic ending to months of awesome fights which I am proud to have participated in, and would do so again in a heartbeat.

If you really think we are fielding anywhere near that number then you're massively delusional. I think our biggest gang was like 100, maybe a bit more when solar made brief appearances. And that 100 was hardly a regularly appearance.
On an op last night we were shooting towers with 30 people.... 0 resistance.
I'm dissapointed IRC ;) we are fielding the equivalent of small roaming gangs with 0 capitals. You have an entire alliance with capitals, and 0 fight
make whatever whine and pathetic excuse you like, Cobalt Edge basicly got run over by a mish mash of battlecruisers and a sprinkling of battleships.
Having said that I can probably say most people would appreciate if you got some help from heavy hitters, would make it funner  at this stage I have my doubts but. |

In response to the last post, the comparison was not of actual numbers fielded, but, the player-base to draw from. As far as the mish-mash of BC/BS, with usually close to a quarter of the fleet in logistics ships, it can be quite formidable. 30 man gang taking out a small tower.... sure I can do that. After the constant onslaught of multiple fleets topping 100, yeah. Your biggest fleet was maybe 100? Maybe. But your pets and friends came to play as well. As I said, "perception is everything in this game".
Since the post defining the alliances already involved, three or four more have made an appearance in Cobalt against us. It is easy to get kicks in on a opponent already pinned, isn't it?
Whining? Not I. Three or three hundred, I still fight. This is my last word on the subject. You have your opinion, I deal with facts.
