Hope they do give lost items i had a can of faction Modules and ammo from level 4 Guristas extra which i was coming back for which was bookmarked. Better still be there if we get back online in an hour. :(

never gotten a ship back through petition, even when losing them to a bug thats been in game for almost 6 years now. just dont fly something you cant lose, because you will and ccp wont give it back :)
