OT: I did the "Rancer mistake" myself some time ago.. My harbinger of doom went down, but i laughed like a winner as my pod warped of..
Until i reached the gate of freedom, a bright white light appeared and i was suddenly in my birth-station again

I lost a Crow at a bomb camp in Onatoh yesterday. First ever low sec bomb camp loss. By sheer luck I guess I entered my pod in between bomb cycles and was able to warp out safely. I checked the guy's kill record on Eve-Kill and his other victims had not been so lucky 
Anyway though nobody who ever died in Low Sec didn't deserve it for one reason or another.

What is this 'Rancer' you people keep talking about.
Is it a system? is it a constellation? a region?
Seriously, I've heard it mentioned before through the years but never actually knew what it was or why I should care.
It has come to my attention in the recent days on C&P that apparently I SHOULD care about Rancer.
So, what is Rancer?
