WHY?!?!??!

When I first started playing this game, lo those many moons ago, I, like many another new recruit saw the massive, monstrous and oh-so-cool Titans and Motherships as *THE* ships to get one's grubby mitts on.
Then I learned the sad, horrible, AWFUL truth of it all.
You become a slave.
A slave to that ship. A ship that can not be docked. A ship that is ALWAYS in the game. ALWAYS vulnerable. ALWAYS at risk.
You can pimp out a faction battleship with billions upon billions of ISK in Officer mods and such, and when you log off, it disappears from the scene, untraceable and safe.
You get yourself a 80 Billion ISK Titan and it's always there. Whether YOU are or not. You have to leave it parked somewhere. Usually in a deathstar somewhere, now that the beyond-belief deep safespots are gone.
And just like an Escalade with the keys in it on some side street in Brooklyn, all it takes is for someone too come along who knows how to fly it and jack your ride, strip it at the chop shop, sell the hull and you are skewered out of all that ISK.
But it's in an Alliance deathstar, you say? How can it be stolen, you say?
Mates, when entire ALLIANCES are being stolen, you think you little Titan or Mom is safe?
Forget the supercaps. kiddies.
Fly ships you can dock and keep safe when you are not online. Getting blowed up in the game is fine.
Having your ship hotwired and nicked while you are offline having a shag is teh fails.

60 seconds after logging out with no agro it vanishes and can not be scanned. People that fly supercaps never unboard them.

Have you gone mad?
Titan's, Motherships and any other ship in the game vanish from the game moments after you logoff. Unless of course you have aggro, in which case you can be scanned and mangled.

And if you leave that ship to fly something else in the game, something more fun, THE SHIP REMAINS AFTER YOU LOG OFF.
So, you are stuck in it.
Forever.
Unless, of course, you want to risk having it nicked while you are off having a shag, as I originally stated.

I used to play with someone who trained up mommie/titian pilots (as she put it) specifically to be used to keep the supercaps safe while the owners were off using proper ships. They used to sell in the character bizarre for nice money. She no longer plays but I am sure you can find someone else offering a similar service.

Don't leave the ship empty. Have an alt that can board it and then log off the alt. So your main is then free again and the supercap is safe!
That's how they do it, I heard.

The OP is correct. This is why I never fly supercaps, merely steal them.
I can barely stand being trapped in those wretched hulls for the day or two it takes to fence them.

And how does it differ from leaving any other ship in space? Plus you can leave it in personal pos - and noone will take it. Plus you can use holding alt and just board it and logoff alt. Plenty of ways...

No, what you do, is when you have a supercap character, you make an alt and start over to do normal combat.
Or better yet, just have an alt shoot straight for supercaps on a second account, then transfer them to your main account once they have the full skillset.

I'm suprised Chribba or someone reputable hasn't started a business that provides parking alt rental for supercaps. Turn up, receive an agreed collateral for your supercap, let parking alt take it, go fly something else, when you want to reboard it give back the collateral less the agreed per-day rental fee.

You can DOCK any other ship.
I damned sure wouldn't leave a 20 billion ISK pimped out Rattlesnake floating "in space". I'd dock the fragger.
YOU CAN'T DOCK A TITAN OR A MOM!
( Ask the late Admiral Noir of the Gallente Federation, or the folks at that Ishukone station that is STILL on fire )
So, again, one is STUCK in the ship.
A SLAVE TO IT.
Bugger all that.

You're troll was going good until this post. WTF are you talking about? There is no such thing as a personal POS and I'd love for someone to leave a supercap unpiloted inside a FF of a POS belonging to a different corp than the person ejecting from it. Come downtime that unpiloted supercap would be halfway across the EVE universe from being ejected from the FF.

This is a very funny thread and shows the idiocy that is endemic of the internet warriors that post their idiotic ramblings.
To the OP you are completely right you are a slave to the ship. You just cannot ever leave it and get into something else. Everyone i know in game says exactly the same thing. The only way to use one would be to have it on an alt that you only use when you need it.
To the majority in this ship of fools. We all know that it disappears when you log but he was not taking about that.

What if I just wanna MINE?

Affording something, and being bothered to tend, care for and feed it are two entirely different things.
I can AFFORD a kid.
Doesn't mean that I want to HAVE one around and have to take care of it.
I can AFFORD a POS.
Doesn't mean I want the burden of keeping it up.
So, as I said to another less-than-helpful idiot,
Your idea is that I be slave not only to the ship from hell, but to a TAMAGOTCHIE AS WELL?!?!?
Whacked in the head isn't sufficient to describe that idea.

PLUS: Most of the time those things are build from the alliance, so if you loose one who cares!!!!! /o\

The titan has a clone vat bay. What happens, if you clonejump from the titan to another clone at a station. Will the titan with your old clone log off and disappear ? If yes, OP has no point. If no, this sucks ... can you meet then your own clone in space ?

Your holding alt becomes a slave. One that takes about 200 or so days to train if you are in a supercarrier or a fair bit longer if you are in a titan. Plus if you are using a second account as the keeper of the holding alt(highly reccomended) then you get the bonus of eventually training it to the point you no longer have to use your main for cap ops. So now you can just park this one where its most convenient as you do all the other fun stuff again with your main since joining a cap op will simply be a matter of logging out and back into you supercap.
