Was wondering what the state of convoys is on this side of Tyrannis? As I understand they can essentially carry lots of previously not-so-profitable goods such as coolant, which is now 10x as valuable.
Anyone out there with some experience farming these things for fun/profit that could offer some guidance around this activity? The guides out there do a pretty good job explaining what you can/cannot attack without aggroing concord/station guns, but I haven't seen any good resources discussing things like spawn rates/drop rates.
Thanks in advance! Retired from corp sales. Time to spend some of this on pretty explosions :) |

I vaguely recall there being a pretty thorough guide to farming NPC convoys posted somewhere on the forums a while back. Hit up EVE-search.
The big thing to remember is that it will quickly wreck your standings with the NPC corp that the convoy belongs to, to the point where you may rapidly find yourself not only unable to dock at their stations, but actively attacked by them. This is independant of faction standing
Also: DO NOT attack Concord convoys.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

I've been shooting them for fun for a few months now (aiming for -10.0 standings ), and I guess that if I were to sell everything I collected so far maybe I'll make 1-200m, so it's not really a profitable thing to do imo.
If you enjoy wasting your standings over 13 units of robotics every hour, then convoys is the game for you. You will make more profit running missions or mining imo, and that doesn't wreck your standings nearly as bad as taking out the convoys.
Spawn rates are very unpredictable, at times there can spawn new convoys every other minute, while other times one every 45 minutes. And the drops are in very small amounts. If you want to research the drops simply go nuts with a cargo scanner on the convoys as it will show the contents.
Worst loot is when they drop illegal stuff and you get the customs on your ass haha

Thanks, that's very helpful. I would have assumed a hauler would be filled to the brim with trade goods, like a null sec hauler spawn that drops 15 million tritanium. But if it's more in the 10-20 range, that's not a reliable source of robotics and coolant and things.
