I would like an official response from CCP please:
Is it legal to take advantage of the Buddy system by inviting yourself in a separate account and obtaining three weeks for your trial account and a full month for your main? (after you've upgraded the trial with a plex ofcourse).
Please advise cos....... I'd like to do this too :)

Accounts obtained through Steam may not be treated the same.

Well from what i read in the regulation it is perfectly legit as long as the subscription is bought through the mentioned legit payment methods .
And after all , as long as CCP gets the money what's the problem. Whether the buddy program gets you to invite someone else or create an alt it's still the same profit for them.

Any way petitioning seems the safest course of action.

Well i wouldn't see why. But in that topic he mentioned 3 month for 6 dollars , i guess that is through one of the payment methods that is considered non-legit by the buddy program.

It's legit as long as you play by the rules.
There has been some 'issues' with people exploiting steam offers to get 3 months of game time with 6 dollars which obviously wasn't what CCP meant.
So they (CCP) have closed (new) steam accounts from accessing the buddy offers (^2 and others).
So getting your alt some free play time is still legit, you just aren't allowed to "exploit" the loop holes for obvious reasons.

No offense, but CCP Adida doesn't have a clue. Nowhere in the Terms and Conditions (s)he refers to it says you can not accept the invite yourself.
