The beauty of Eve is that you can say no to whatever playstyle you don't want to play and yes to whichever you do want to play. But I have to say it's pretty selfish of you to get people to "say no to Incarna" because you yourself don't like it.

I hope that they have a real dollar microtransaction store, and that every time anyone buys anything everyone the server gets a pop-up congratulating JoeBlow123 on his new mount purchase.
I will buy an alt if this happens IMO.

True, the thread title is not super neutral, my bad. I am happy with the response though, I like seeing what people think.

Why is this in Crime&Punishment section? Well I for one look forward to all the nice clothes I can dress my doll up in! Toon. I mean character. Also, we should have pets and crafting. Ooh and shops would be great! And arcade games!
You guys do know where this is all going right? Console gamers. The Sims in Space. Oh yes...

No. Incarna is just beta-testing for World of Darkness. We're paying for the production of a vampire-WoW atm. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |

Here's a craaazy idea..How about, before CCP adds anything else to the game, they once and for all FIX the LAAAAAG issues that has plagued the game for quite some time now..So that the outcome of massive fleet engagements(As seen and advertised by CCP) can be decided by strategy and tactics and not by which side has more or less LAAAAAG. |

Actually looking forward to Incarna, though I have a funny feeling CCP will once again crap on the criminal community and make outlaws attackable by groups of slobbering carebears in stations...and of course, much like in space, there will be "faction police" that will wtfkill us in approximately 10 seconds, that way the carebears wont get hurt while doing so.
But yeah, some days i do just log in and BS with friends. Be kinda nice to be able to look at something besides my ship in the hangar while i do that. Space is fun! |

Like many others, I too am looking forward to Incarna. That said, I do wish they would delay it by 18 months and fix lag, faction warfare, the GUI, and all the other stuff on their backlog. Even a more balanced approach to introducing new content (say every year instead of every 6 months) while fixing and completing other content, would be appreciated.

I'm looking forward to Incarna. I still think what they do with it is going to be excellent.
What I think is coming for Eve is procedurally-generated planets you can walk, drive, and fly around on. This will be several years out but I think Incarna and Dust are moves in that direction as well as extremely interesting game additions in themselves.
I would really, really like to see a fix to interface lag. There is no conceivable reason that network traffic should cause the entire interface to hitch, and the two should be decoupled from each other. This would improve the perceived stability of the game in most situations.
I think doing Dust and Incarna at the same time was a bad idea, unless the two interface somehow. Did they really need to release two FPS-like clients at the same time?
Other than that I'm very happy indeed about Eve. I love it more and more, to the point where it's turned into an unhealthy obsession.

If the quality of textures and models for the incarna expansion is anything close to second life or anything significently less then that of half life 2, then I will personally open a black hole inside eve HQ.
With that said, we all have to pray to the old gods really hard that Futanari pubs and gratuitus nudity is common in the incarna expansion.
I play this game because of how realistic and sophisticated it is, most of the userbase is college educated. If incarna comes out and I am unable to pay isk to have tame silhouette sex with a ****girl then its a freaking bust.
I mean lets face it, what would gallente stations be without erotic services and flirty hermaphrodites.
Sure the liklyhood that CCP will stay true to the "lore" to the extent that they allow for sex on the scale that was in mass effect is kinda low.. Not impossible.. but still low.
However I do have confidence that they wont F#%@@ incarna up by having everything looks a worldofwarcraft-esk as the outside of stations do.
Because if incarna comes out and my avatar is something I can make in maya or 3ds in under 6 days then so help me god! I will rain down upon ccp like an ungodly hellfire of lovecraftian proportions. I will go cthuluu on each and ever one of them.

incarna and eve are two different games, entirely. they tie in to one another but incarna will not cause eve to be any less or more laggy simply by it just "being there"...
also im pretty sure i read somewhere this is purely cosmetic the only player interractions allowed are chat... theres no pvp or anything.. :( i actually fly amarr |

Incarna has been one of the most looked-forward-to additions to EVE since the game launched (obviously, in a more vague sense, meaning the ability to leave your ship was wanted). I am extremely excited for it.

I think the carebears are the ones crying most about incarna cause they know now that being in station isn't going to be safe for them anymore. Cause I know at some point in time, I'm gonna get a gun and I'll be able to follow WT's in. So unless they are afk in their cubicle. I'm gonna put a round through their head and complete my contracts.

It's already been stated several times that Incarna will not bring PVP inside stations. Think of it, the entire way CCP backs up the fact that you can lose a ship and thousands of crew in the blink of an eye and be getting in another one the next blink is that we're all immortal.
We're not immortal outside our pods, and unless they introduce into the storyline new cloning technology that does not require a pod in order to function, I don't see them introducing ways to kill us in the only environment in which we're actually in mortal danger.
It would definitely be fun though, but so would smartbombing the 4-4 undock and we won't be seeing that happening either. Also, don't blame me, I was high when I wrote this.

Would it be fun to end someone's EVE existence permanently? Hell yes it would, but it makes no sense to do so if CCP wants people to keep p(l)aying.
But then, who knows, maybe there will be some form of non-lethal combat included. I for one would love to face off with you, Lana in a sparring match where SP doesn't mean crap. Also, don't blame me, I was high when I wrote this.

In addition to the valid contributions above, C&P guys what would you like to see fixed in EvE before Incarna, here I am looking in particular at the good old meanies plaguing both the low sec and the empire. The innovative and creative people who fly and interact in a non-prescribed manner; aka griefers, scum, 455h0l35, dirt, as we are referred to by the more conventionally oriented pilots. We too, spite being a minority, are CCP customers and a considerable slice of the player pie.

The pod stops being a necessary part of our immortality the second CCP story writers write one chronicle about a new advancement in that technology. The backstory is theirs to alter as they need and see fit. The pods would still remain necessary because they also allow you to control your spaceship and escape it's destruction. That said CCP will propably not allow lethal combat in stations between capsuleers, but the backstory is certainly not the reason why they aren't doing it.

I'm not saying this isn't easily fixed with a new story, in fact it was my intention by alluding to that new technology in the first place to imply that the story could easily reflect this new reality. But that doesn't change the fact it still wouldn't make sense to allow players to truly kill each other if you want them to keep subscribing. Also, don't blame me, I was high when I wrote this.
