No, that's just you projecting. I've already given my answer, but you refused to acknowledge it because it didn't fit your preconceptions.
You keep making these vast extremist over-generalisations based on single examples. I never said anything about it being "the best" or "the only thing" or how "nothing is good". That's just you making claims with no basis on what is being said.
And the burning indictment is that they've picked such non-competitors that even EVE in its current horrible state becomes a viable candidate.

What I don't understand is if you guys hate the game so much, why not freeze your subscription and go play something else? You can still keep an eye on the forums in case the problems you have are fixed. It just seems like a humongous loss of time and money playing something you don't enjoy.

As I mentioned in another thread, the award was not deserved.
I love Eve and still would never set it aside for another MMO. The problem however is that the award was given for Tyrannis and not Eve as a whole, and that's where I have issues over it. Tyrannis doesn't even come close to the quality content CCP has put out pre-Dominion.
I expect more of them and rightly so....

Yes, extremist. Just because SS:SE is better doesn't mean that playing EVE is "slumming it".

ArmA: An FPS-centric mil sim.
BF1943: A re-imagined/updated classic PC FPS.

You misunderstand completely. I myself am a EvE vet, been with it on and off since beta of the latter stages in mid 2002. I LOVE this game. What I hate is that it hasn't lived up to its potential yet, mainly due to the fact that a lot of features implemented during the first few years were incomplete and buggy and are constantly coming back to haunt the developers because they didn't lay the polished quality foundation back then. And I completely understand why. As a more or less "indie" development company back then with limited resources, they actually did great considering. But I feel they should have gotten further by now. Not in quantity of content, but in quality of product.
So you see. I feel I have to cry out loud in order to save what I've loved for so long.

It wasn't that bad at release, and it's probably as far from a WoW clone as you can get in the fantasy genre. In my opinion, the reason it suffered at release was the guy in charge at the time didn't treat the community with enough respect. He was fired shortly after.

Eve is always listed in any official award or popularity contest with the latest expansion name tacked on the end. So you are always voting for the entire game and not just the new bits.

His post is saying that if you play eve with pretty much any of the other content available past large fleet fights you don't lag at all unless you were unlucky and are stuck on a stressed nullsec node with a blob forming up 20 jumps away.
So yes you are right, eve is 100% broken and laggy on all fronts. Eve is dying. Cancel your subs now and go play WoT whilst you still can.
