Maybe I'm just to stupid to find a good way to manage my items properly, but it is much more than highly annoying (IT SUCKS) when you have a large amount of items and maybe even items that belong to somebody else who gave them to you for transport or other reasons. Other use cases are when you have loot or ore that you want to share with others - you always have to sort it by hand later (IT SUCKS!!!).
I really would like to be able to sort my items in each station into folders or categories, like you can do it with bookmarks. This would make it MUCH more easier to organize things. I don't think this is technically nor database wise a big problem or performance killer. Maybe the categories could be even stored locally on the client.
Even in carrier corp hangers folders could be usefully. They could work like cans but without a space limit and you should not be able to give the folder itself away to other players, just its contents. So if you drop the folder into the station it gets removed from the carriers cargo or corp hangar and appears in the stations assets inventory.
So please let me know if you know a simple and good way to mange LOTS of items or please come up with better ideas.

personally I would love to see folders, cans can go far, but it is bit of a hassle.

especally in 0.0 where you cant usualy get the "big cans" in most stations. I suppose folders could eliminate the need for the "big cans".

And even big cans are not big enough most of the time when it comes to mining for example or bigger transport operations where you transport stuff or X corp mates with one freighter. After the "fun" of writing down who gave you what, later you have to enjoy the "fun" of giving each member the items he gave you by going through your notes and items.
What I technically would like to see is a non-jettisonable "container". But you should be able to give somebody in a station such a "container" or when somebody gives you item be able to put them into a "container" of your choice to keep this stuff separated from yours.

I can't find one in my area in the 0.0 space, there no containers available. And I think (not sure) they're to big to simply move them...
Quote: Although the construction of a Station Container is much like that of other Cargo Containers a Station Container is far too big to fit in a ship's cargo hold and is only used for storage and inventory management at stations.
Further I don't see a reason why i need a container to stack stuff in a cargo area or warehouse in sections or groups, if you want to find arguments for realism. In reality i could store my stuff in a warehouse how i want it to be ordered - why cant i do this in eve? :(

You think, better to check before next time? The market info shows no blue print neither a search for contracts. And you can't build stuff on each station...
