hi! i accepted a level 4 mission and had to leave my place, so i could not complete it in time. when i talked to my agent to get another one i got shocked and noticed i dropped from 8.1 to 7.4 with all the agents from this corp! checking the "transactions" i got an ~8% hit, seemed a lot to me. everybody kept telling me that must be ok, since it was a level 4 mission and so on. checking out my transaction logs i also noticed a 8% hit from an uncompleted level 3 mission though. unfortunately i cannot tell if this also translated into a 0.7 point standing loss. ok, i accepted the fact and thought to myself: "don't fail missions anymore, or you're gonna loose your agent's quick", and fought the next mission. that mission raised my standings from 7.4 to 7.5 ... checking the transactions it gave ~ 5% ... wait ... last mission dropped me 0.7 points / ~8% ... now shouldnt give me ~5% also around 0.4 points?
something is really wrong here, it seems that the %loss in standing counts 10 times more than a gain! can someone share their experience on this? i don't know whether i should bug report this, cross post into another thread / board or just forget it ... thx

You're not alone in that situation. Successfully finishing a few lvl4 missions gives me a .1 boost to standings, but refusing one(*maybe* two) will drop my standings by about .7 as you mentioned.
Something odd (to say the least) that should be reported if its not already been done.

Standing loss is calculated differently than standing gain.
Standing gain is based on the difference between 10 and your current standing so the higher you get the less of an increase you see. Loss on the other hand is calculated based on the difference from either -10 or 0 (cant remember which) and your current score - so in this case the higher your standing the bigger the amount of loss you will see.

Ok, to clear up what you people miss from not knowing.
10.00 standing is 100%, all standing awards are based on 10.0 being 100%, 8% standing gain/loss is +/-.8 to your current.
Took me awhile to figure that out too.
It ain't over till the fat lady falls on ya!

rofl next time read the post, then reply
she lost 8%, translated to 0.7 points standing loss. then she gained 5% and if you have some brain it would be logical to gain ~0.4 points standin, BUT she gained only 0.1 ... omg

Getting standing ((10-currentstanding)*standing multiplier)/2= new standing gain Lossing standing ((10+ current standing)* standing lost multipier)/2 = lost standing
Now.. ((10+8.1)*8%)/2 = 0,724 loss
and he gained: ((10-7.4)*5%)/2 = 0,065 gain
So it all works out.. Do NOT flame people couse eve isnt 1+1

yeah i did not know that, a GM already confirmed it. but what johnson mccrae said was completely different from this, and exactly what was written in the original post that did NOT happen. so obviously he did not read it, okey?
