Found this article which lends some credence to the idea that our universe is nothing more than the "singularity" inside of a black hole in another universe.
http://www.popsci.com/science/article/2010-07/we-might-be-living-black-hole-scientist-says
It explains the acceleration in our currently expanding universe a lot better than the so-called, "dark-energy" theory.

I always thought this was a distinct possibility, having recently read Stephen Hawking's "Brief History of Time" I think this makes a remarkable amount of sense.
To paraphrase him from memory, all known physics and laws of nature break down around singularities, such as the big bang and at the hearts of black holes, to the point at which what is inside or came before is irrelevant in the greater scheme as it cannot by definition influence us. A spot long winded, but I had to ramble on a wee bit to make the point.
Question is, if this hypothesis is to be tested, how would we find evidence of the decay of matter being sucked into the universe as radiation being emitted internally? Or some other way far beyond my layman's knowledge of the quantum level mechanics of reality. Haruhiists - Overloading Out of Pod discussions since 2007. Edited by: Germaldi''s sister on 02/09/2010 22:18:55 i thought we all lived in a matrix
the only reason why the universe was expanding was cos the matrix architect unzipped some more files.
either that or the architect installed more hard drives and ram

i hate to be a completly uncreative git. But why the **** to people get paid to think up these wild ass theorys outside the film industry. Seriously can i get a job where i just sit and go "mayby the universe is made of chicken" and get paid 50k a year for it?

Yes, scientists spend years of their life to get degrees to publish a 3 page paper saying "mayby the universe is made of chicken".
I suggest you look up the meanings of the word "theory".

the biggest confusion is the difference between a theory and a scientific theory... the scientific part gives it a totally different meaning... I theorize that they did this for lulz Signature locked for editing a moderator's warning. Zymurgist |
