I will be looking into making a new kill board for everyone to use. Right now all the main ones being used are pretty much utter ****.
I was wondering if any of you would be willing to help me out as far as coding and such things. I am mainly an aesthetics look kinda guy so all that coding stuff is for someone else.
If not then is there some basic build to work off of for a kill board out there?

While I wish you all the best in your endevour, I have to argue that I find the third party built killboards quite reasonable.
Sure they are far from perfect, but one has to appreciate that there is a massive amount of database work behind these scripts. I can't imagine it's easy to build or maintain one of these, especially with all the updating prices and implementing new objects into the database.

Hi Cromo,
I'm a professional web developer that can code the killboard for you. Since you are a fellow EVE player my price with a discount is $50 per working hour and a roughly estimate is that it can be done in 100 to 120 working hours.
fake edit: This might sound like a sarcasm, but that's reality. I highly doubt that you'll find anyone who's willing to do this especially when there is EDK which is free.

If you want a useful one, stick to evedev.

While this guy up here is a simple web developer, my subject of expertise is data warehousing. My skills are in high demand and very rare, but we're all fellow Eve players and I'm willing to give you a discount. I'm thinking 75 USD/hour. I can give you a robust way of reporting and filtering the data, but I will of course leave the front end aesthetics entirely to you.
It's better that way. Trust me.

I'm curious what he wants to improve on when it comes to killboards.
Also, please do not sell services for IRL money on the forums, you may do so in ISK.

only CCP gets to rip off people for a monthly fee with a product that does not work. There isn't room for both of you.

The current eve killboard system is freaking open source, making a new one is utter fail.
In your case however you seem to want to make skins instead, and you can skin that system, I saw a person actually offering quite visually impressive skins for ISK maybe a month ago on these forums.

While this guy up here is a data-warehouse code monkey, my fields of experience are concept development, design and art-direction. When you want to build a house you don't start negotiating with a mason or a wood worker; you need an architect and a real-estate developer. I could be both for you.
I can guarantee you that your killboard will be the most user friendly one, the most stable and reliable one, the best looking one, AND offering the widest range of extras which will make it even more awesome and popular. I manage this by approaching a series of specialists from a wide range of related fields of work and will hand pick the very best and strictly supervise them to finally deliver you a supreme work of art and functionality. You will be closely involved in the entire process from concept to design and implementation.
An estimate of the costs involved in this would be around 800 billion isk.
I hope to receive an ingame mail from you with a go on this,
Regards,
Ran

Dude, just make a mod for the EVE-Dev board. Its perfectly functional and extendible.
I keep meaning to make an efficiency calculator that works on things like ships field (numbers) vs opponents. People bringing 100 rifters fit with just t1 meta 0 in their slots get extra penalties for using 'Spacial distortions' as their one trick pony play.
Another idea I have is one that allows you to manually (drag and drop) move corps that should be on the right hand side, but remote ECM burst to ***** on all kill mails, over to the right and so they aren't recorded as being on both sides (i.e. neutrals that just shoot everyone also covered).
Had a comedy idea for one that broadcast 'IN-YOUR-FACE.mp3' when you viewed a SuperCap kill
Rewriting the World from scratch wont win you any brownie points at this stage of maturity.

All the current kill boards look dated. EVE Arena looks the best but still falls massively short considering this is a spaceship game. EVE-Kill run Kraposki is riddled with fake mails. I will be pioneering a new standard for kill boards.

Sadly, I'd have to fork EDK because the code made me cry last time I looked at it.

I think most people would just like: 1) Killmail show up under your kills if you were a participant, regardless of who got the final blow 2) The killmail to show actual damage dealt per person.
