Well, three extended DTs in a week (I hope all you tragic protein fed, cooling device boys can at least restrain from leaping to CCP's defence on this one at least).
So what are the chances of screwing it all up tonight? Any point trying to play this broken game by an increasingly incompetent software company or just get an early night?
Anyone like to take bets?

i suggest that instead stay several hours hooked to a screen you take some free time and go get a drink with some friends, then come back later.
as murphy said if something can go wrong it'll go wrong, Tbh EVE extended DT aren't half as worse as the old EQ ones...
You know what the chain of command is?

Look at it this way, normal downtime is rarely a full hour so you actually have been getting free playtime.
Now if CCP needs eXtended downtime, well then, doesn't it all balance out in the end?

Those with other points about the server coming up early. That would be ace but I don't expect it, and don't plan for it. I want the server to be available when I sit down at the advertised time. And if CCP have to have an extended DT not to do it in the peak playing times of Friday/Saturday/Sunday nights.
The amount of extended DTs seems to be getting longer and longer but the product seems to be getting worse and worse.

You are totally right, with all the lag and bugs this game is broken, downtime is just cause there mean to us.
P.S ^ lacking a font for sarcasm, extended downtime is used for them to fix bugs and OP is an idiot. Not happy bout the state of EVE but at least they're trying, go read the new Dev Blogs.

after playing years of eve and rarely seen a downtime taking the full hour, i can forgive them the 2 downtimes that took longer then an hour that weren't annouced

The extended downtimes are probably due to the recent staged implementation of character nodes, which are reducing load on the main system loads. Go troll elsewhere, you're clogging up the forum.

So how does this work are there two camps, one that loves CCP and one that doesn't. Then they flame each other till the thread gets locked. Just fight it out in game, but make sure CCP Re Enforces the Node if there are more then 6 people on grid.
Seriously though Downtime is the least of our worries, if they need time to fix the game. I am willing to give them a little slack. Now if it was 2 weeks of this it would be post worthy.
