Early last week I purchased a character. Character was removed since the person had stolen it basically. Kinda sucked but I understand. So I purchase another character with not that great of a name. This toon is like 2 months old with 2.7m skillpoints. I sent in a petition to have the name changed because it isn't even a name, it's just a word. I got an email saying they wouldn't change the name. I have been playing this game since October 2004. I think in all those years I have sent in one petition. I have been a very loyal and low maintenance customer. I sent email back. I will be very disappointed if they don't approve it.

if you've been playing since 2004 you'll know they don't change names, also why would you want a 2.4 mil SP character.

Was a hulk pilot for an alt, saved some training on the main. I did not think a name change would get turned down.

Apparently you feels some flexibility is due, due to your loyalty.
It's just a game, CCP is just a business and you are just a customer. There is no "loyalty" or "favors."
I'm about as noobish as they come and I know better than to ask. Just 2+mill skills? May as well create a new character with the name you want, dont you think?

As stated above, how can you as a 2004 player not know this?
But if it's just a hulk alt the name really doesn't matter, most of them are after all called fhksdfkjh anyways.

I know exacly where u are talking about. This is not my orininal char and i bought it from a finnish dude. I bought it at 50m sp and now i have 91m sp. Try to pronounce the last name in any langish, english, russian, dutch, french, german, its impossible. I have run a char name chage proposal in the assembly hall a while back. It is simply not possible because they need to give everyone an option to change their name once. That is not possible.

ps: the first name is amazing in fleet battles, expecialy vs french people:
"primary emmo"
'Que?"
"emmo"
'emmo'
'FFS emmo with a "....."
'f**k it never mind"
"primairy secondairy"
Pas-ki-a-inen should not be that difficult to pronounce. The OP's problem is that the name from the character he bought is far from exotic -> 'TEXST'. Maybe bio your way around it: The EXSTerminator or something like that.

Apparently you have no clue on how business works.
If loyalty is an unimportant thing to businesses why do large, well run companies have expensive loyalty schemes?
(Hint: find out how much it costs to retain a customer as opposed to get a new customer)

To get your money.
Letting you change your name won't give CCP any more money and not doing it won't lose them any money, so spending time doing it is a losing proposition.

It could be translated as "Bastard Dude" but literally

Since you have bought character with inappropriate name not knowing it's true
meaning, I don't see why CCP would refuse to change it. It's against naming policy
but not your fault.
