I have been doing low and null sec exploration sites in a Myr for some time and finaly have good skills for a ishtar and im looking for pointers on a fitting.
Im looking to use it clear the rooms get the loot and GTFO before anyone knows im there. i have a truck load more armor skills than shield skills so any tips in that direction would help me more.
Thanks in advance,

This fit has a better tank but less range so no warping in at 70 plus km and one shotting frigs/cruiser at range (sebo is for targeting range). Although this can be used vs other rat types better if you change resists. neither really excel at lvl 4 missions. Both require Hac 4 for drone bay

i see that both fitting didnt use guns in the highs and seem to have kinda weak tanks. is it just better to snipe with an ishtar in the overall?

rat spec resists put the first one at 450 vs gurista and the other should be over 550 vs rat spec, this is plenty in a cruiser hull, as the sig radius pretty much means you can ignore non elite BS hulls, if you are orbiting your sentry at 500m (beter to orbit a can and place sentries so your orbit does not break1500m on some of your sentries). The major weakness of the Sentry ishtar is elite cruisers, 4 of these can make things more then a bit hairy esp if you have not cleared the scraming frigs.
As for using guns... Honestly with 2x omni your sentries do alot better quality of damage compared to most ships, think a BS in the 800dps range that can hit smaller targets. A buddy of mine in his insane Nightmare will only run with my ishtar (esp vs gurista) or pimped PvE tengu. ------- "Because the Dominix is the Chuck Norris of Eve!" |

the tank in above fittings is sufficient, just turning on the afterburner and orbiting something is the biggest part of the tank, plus the ship has perfect resists on guristas already.
As for guns in the highs, only 3 guns dont help that much, plus you really dont have any fitting options to squeeze them in there in the first place. Even less so if you fit 2 sentry rigs

I hate making PVE Ishtar fits, they always end up looking so... noobish.

The Ishtar has perfect resists for the job (if it is Guristas). Just use the first fit and you have both. You do have perfect sentry skills..?

blood Raiders and active tanks don't mix well. better go for a passive shield tank (or something with cap boosters).

I'm sorry, but that fit is p.bad. Either of the above sentry fits are vastly superior. If you want to use blasters or don't have good sentry drone skills, get a Deimos.

If you're going to tank for kin/therm and plex, this fit is superior. 538 dmg with garde's at 55k, with 96/93 kin/therm res.
You can find the membrane's for 30m a pop off of contracts, or you can wait to find one cheap - I got mine for 12m/ea.

Can *easily* do 8/10 gurista plex's with my mediocre shield skills.
