Keep getting a message in EFT and Evemon that the backend db is down. Can't update my character. I might have to __work__!

Pretty obvious they're having some challenges bringing it back online. I wonder why people don't read news articles from four days ago but rush to the forums?

I told that to my DBA coworkers in the cube next to me. They chuckled politely.

Instead of walking into the bar, why not just view the tables through the front window?

The query wanted a better view.

Because he was looking to commit an insert and the view in question contains multiple tables as per the premise of the joke.

Fair enough, but if you can insert into any table into the joint, then why commit when you can select a different table every night? Or would so many transactions be too expensive?

It's not difficult if you have a decent rig. Any system with resources will be targeted by Windows. And as we all know: Windows, can't live with them, can't live without them. Once you let one into your system, you'll wind up with additional features to feed whether you want them or not.

The secret is to STFU about it when you are in the company of a female, and pretend to be interested and not point out the inconsistency of it all when she dumps all her epic monologues on you.

Yeah, Structured Query Language, my butt. Sometimes I really wonder about just what Codd was thinking when he created an object that remembers everything. And why would Codd create an object that thrives on relationships when there are only two objects?
Ah well, Orthogonality Lost.
