TL;DR Yes, this is pretty much another "Which Logistic is best?" thread.
If you could only train for a single Cruiser V skill, which would have the most viability is both large, small and gang fleets in both PvP and PvE?
I decided I'd to move my industrialist over, seeing as he's not really training anything of use anymore. I read up on the pro's & con's and am still framboozled (Okay, pulling my hair out!) as to which would be a great choice to start with. Surely, I'd like to train at least one Shield + Armour repper, but that second option won't be for awhile.
Both the Oneiros and Basilisk have their respective T1 variants, both of which offer useful bonuses to the learning Logistics user, they would also benefit from the skill up of their respective Cruiser skills. Both Amarr and Minmatar seem to lack this (Or at least a decent bonus).
From what I've gathered, the Oneiros is limited in large fleet fights, I've read of complaints stemming from FC's preferring a linked Guardian setup. However, it's supposed to be "entirely self-sufficient". Also, does the Basilisk ever get to see real PvP combat ( E.G-Repping Drake fleets) outside of repping POS shields and the occasional Raven aid in missions? Or should I just stop wasting time and RR with my Domi?
Of course, this could also come down to "Which race of Cruiser V would you rather have in two months?"
Any opinions/experiences? (As that's all it really comes down to, I'd imagine).

Guardians remove at least 2 dps pilots but can keep the rest alive better, but an Oneiros would better fit as some backup if your talking small numbers on either side and know the other side can tank a bit or down one of yours fast, and you're all armour tanked. N.B. I'm usually dealing with ganking PvE gangs in wormholes.
And that guy's a corp thief iirc. |

guardian then basilisk. self sufficient is kind of a novelty in eve.
Shield tanks arent really utilized in most pvp fleets. I am seeing them used more now than i did a couple years ago when it was armor or LOL. I dont think an FC would be unhappy to have a basilisk in fleet.
Personally i fly both. Though i cross trained into amarr for other reasons.
