When's the casting? I don't really want to troll you. If I trolled you anyway, I'll probably edit it out as soon as the rage fades. |

Worse than LCO.

Some story involving an expedition into WH space could be interesting. Of course, everything would go wrong and they would be trapped in an alien solar system, being forced to hide from the sleepers that they stirred up. Then some russian alliance comes in and destroys the sleepers mothership and everything else in an epic showdown with lots of explosions while the remaing expedition team barely makes their escape. An analysis: fixing active tanking in a logical manner: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1693846 |

Clear Skies is a quality movie - a must watch if this kind of stuff interests you.
The script, voice acting and cinematography are of professional standard and I found the dialogue to be particularly quick and witty. Great choice of backing tracks too.
What's better than one astounding EvE movie? Well there's three of them for you to enjoy, for free :) |

Just 2 that pop up in my mind. Though liking a movie is always personal. I actually liked these movies.

I'll write the script for free, and gladly give up the rights to it, so you save some buck there. It may or may not be overly emphasis on killing and harrassing people tho. shiptoastin' liek a baws |

Potentially a stretch, but Aliens vs Predictors.
The Alien series was of course it's own franchise as was the Predator series.. They were brought together by a comic book that was released in the early 90s, which was later turned into a FPS video game that had decent success. This later brought about the fan fare to allow the movies to be made in which there have been two to date, both using their own story-lines out side the realm of the game & comic book.
It was probably a unique case of having a game built around the idea that started from a movie/comic book that later helped spur along more movies. |

What if CCP would ally itself with a movie company and make ... um... a movie?
They should get the exact cast, crew, and director from Wing Commander. Now that was a great example of good scifi... |

The new Aliens movie was prettty good, even if they ripped off firefly. I don't care what anyone says, I liked it! -á"Nerf it cause I can't fly it". I want to fly a badass Mon Calamari stlye-ácruiser painted to match my Tron clothes. |

As long as neither Micheal Bay or Roland Emmerich are in charge of anything, it might have a chance of being a decent movie. |

That guy shouldn't be allowed to use crayons to draw a picture, let alone cameras.
I think, given the vast nature of the game, a series would be far better suited than a movie or two. There is just too much material to try and cram into a 2-3 hour flick. Given the nature of Eve, I think something between BSG and Star Trek would visually come close. But that's just me. |

Here are some ideas I had over the years.
First up make an origins movie using the EVE lore, the original intro movie was mind blowing to me when I first saw it. Imagine taking that, perhaps starting off in our galaxy, showing the expansion of mankind, wars etc and then the discovery of the New Eden wormhole, then start the movie proper once humans start to settle on this side of it. Show the expansion of the races, the Jove going off on their own etc. End it with the collapse of the wormhole.
Next movie uses flash backs and more lore to kick it off, then use more lore from the early eve expansions plus player made content to fill out the rest of the film, its not like there would be a shortage of it. This method could be used to bring us up to the release of say, the Empyrean Age. There were some amazingly descriptive elements to that story that would transfer superbly to the big screen, possibly the entire book could be made in to a screenplay.
Follow that on with lore from more of the expansions, add in more player created material including alliance wars etc, you could even work in things like hulkageddons if you tried hard enough. Possibly throw in parts of the Burning Life book as well and that would make another good movie.
That brings us up to the present, with the imminent realisation of DUST wars, the Templar One book, even more player made content along with more expansions released by CCP. Now if one movie was made and released every 3 years or so, by the time the content created up until now was exhausted, you would have another 9 years of material to work with.
What do you think? Any good? Feel free to comment. Numbers of terminally stupid people seem to be on the increase, I suggest we have a real life Stupidageddon to rectify this issue. |
