I wonder what the ratio of Alienware users to Mac users is? It must be huge, because their problems sure get patched in a hurry!

Bolded important part of the patch, imo. Crashbugs preventing start of client is pretty serious, my guess is that the Alienware thing was easy to do so they tossed it in because it was ready for deployment anyway. But hey, it's all speculation.

Well, I've never experienced crash while starting the client, but have had them after playing for a while. Also we're still getting the multitude of other glitches that have been there since Tyrannis was launched.
Heck, I'd love to get on Sisi and help test some of these patches before they launch, but the crashing and freezing makes it kind of a useless endeavor.

It also doesn't require 3rd party interaction. CCP can't fix Cider bugs, only Transgaming can do that.

They dont fix 3rd party stuff?
Surely they (CCP) are getting paid the same amount of cash for subscription from MAC customers as Windows customers?
If they cant fix what they dont see as important enough, perhaps they can lower the fee for mac client customers.
Or even, stop promoting the game in the press and t'internet until they can provide ALL customers with a client that works, instead of just making it work on some platforms. (Guessing this patch addresses a particular dev that happens to own a Alienware M17x laptop. Thats how its done. )
Anyone fancy clubbing together to buy a dev a mac to run with. Im sure we'll see some patches come out if that happens ;P
