Something changed - sites below .2 sig str (high skill, average implants, dedicated probe ship) dont respawn anymore in at least 2 lowsec-regions. For now in those 2 regions only gravi sites can be found which happen to be the sites nearly no player runs.
Word by CCP upfront would have been nice to tell something has changed or is about to be changed. Since it now became obvious, please tell us what happened. Even though am all in to spicing stuff up and makign it more difficult, it would be nice to know somethign changed.
Addendum - more info also: http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1376458

It seems more and more people are wondering - isnt it time for a heads-up?

Been noticing similar things, although I've not performed exhaustive searches of 'my' region, so I chalked it up to bad luck... Signature removed. |

Edited by: Elena Vherokia on 02/09/2010 15:45:26 Sites slowly respawn, but it seems its way less sites than before. Also it seems the "per region" respawn has been disabled. Therefore several high-end sites might not be active in a given region at a given time.
Addendum: I also observed "weird" sig strengths. Meaning: some sites apparently have a lower sig str than 2-3 days ago. (example: former .31 - .34 sites now show as .29 or even .28 sites)

There is always the same amount of sigs in a given region.
Of course, you got to take account of the respawnign time; The site you just despawn in a 0.2 might eventually respawn in a 0.4 or 0.1 if its 5|10 or higher.
Theory is,a radar is a radar and might respawn anywhere in your 120+ systems region (same goes for gravs and mags) but dont hold me to that info, just a theory.
Another theory is sites might instantly respawn, some might take an hour or 2.
Viva la randomness...lots of theory.
Dont expect a dev to shime-in and correct or approve what I just wrote

Hunny please read the thread before posting. You just wrote common knowledge about sites as of like 3-4 days ago. In case you didnt notice: changes happen for a few days now and behaviour changed.
And just in case you cba'd to really read: yes, some people checked whole regions, some checked 2 regions and some checked a region 3-4 times in a row including scanning ALL the sigs of .2 str and below.
In above posts is the result of those scans. For the fact book:
1. Two regions definitly didnt have their high-end DED complex spawned for more than 10 hours yesterday. 2. Two regions didnt have a site respawn of below .2 str sigs for 12+hours yesterday 3. Yesterday site respawn kicked in again later on but with slightly adjusted sig str and restrictive high end spawn of sites (aka eg one high end DED not for one region only but for several) 4. a GM verified a bug at first 5. Elena, thats me, now claims its intentional by CCP (at least partially aka the fiddling with exploration).
That last "fact" (5.) can be denied by anyone, since I wont back it up (it would tell how I know it, thats why I dont tell).
Yours
Elena

In no way am I agreeing to any of the bizarre conspiracy theories of the OP (in any thread)...
However, circumstancially, I did note about 3 Forsaken sites with no rats, and have not seen a Vigil in over 2 weeks in Hi-sec.
Might just have been bad timing. oooooh...

And in the time it takes you to scan the 120 systems, plus warping around assuming you don't have 120 trained alts, no one else has completed the sigs you were looking for and possibly respawned them into a system you already checked, or cause them to enter the theoretical and not yet proved X time before respawn.
And you are totally, absolutely sure of that. 'nuff said.

Yes hunny you got the point :)
Cant tell how others verified it - at least I know I did.
And please Killerjock: learn exploration.

Lol. Again your only resort when people confront you is "ad hominems". You made enough of a fool of yourself in your other thread, I thought that was enough. Apparently not.
Don't let me disturb you in the process.

Killerjock trolls again
Killerjock cant write in topic
As soon as you beg your pardon for your bad manners in this thread and use the magic word I will gladly explain to you on how you scan all sigs in a given region and verify it.
Until then its not "ad hominus" (Nomen please) but obvious that you still need to learn about exploration since you dont know this kinda stuff.
Thank you for reading.

PS: In case you meant "Argumentum ad hominem" I advise you to quote correctly so someone else knows what you refer to :) Thank you.

I heard the dev's are out to get you Elena. I also heard that they plan to break exploration more and make it even easier.
Go ahead. Rage quit...

If you can use DSPs and have done your research, it takes no more than an hour or so to scan down every high end plex in a region solo. Not saying I've done that of late (:effort:), but it's certainly feasible. Signature removed. |

You can scan all systems normally once. Note down all sig names in the sig range you are looking for. Sig names dont change from dt to dt. Fly-by DSP scanning verifies the result and possible respawns. Its not 120 sigs per region but alot less because lowsec part of regions is sufficient.

As long as a site didnt respawn the sig never changed for me as long as no dt happened :o) (which is for like app. 500+ tracked sites). Am curious on how they do for you :o) ?

Personally I didnt see any change to the sites themselves simply since I couldnt run any high end sites for 3 days.
Anyone else observed changes to the sites?

I'll just copy/paste from my topic:
Since Tyrranys, me and everybody I know of, noticed that all the loot dropped by these plexes are only Overseer effects and sometimes some domi modules/ammo by low tier commanders (not final room). Before the latest expansion, these plexes worked normally, giving Gist stuff. It is strange, since Curse, Scalding Pass and other Angel NPC rats regions dosen't seem plagued by this bug. The sample size is 30 people within alliance doing plexes over a 3 months period in Great Wildlands.
I know that randomness could make such improbable odds possible, but it could also be some bug/small code mistake. I've personally meet the "no, it can't do that/HTF is doing that?" experience and EVE had same problems too (and prob still has some).
It's very easy to deny this as a bug with just 1 or 2 posts from somebody having better loot in 8/10, 10/10 plex in Great Wildlands. Simple said: it will invalidate bug suspicion if: Great Wildlands / 8|10, 10|10 plex / loot better than overseer effects.
