Hoping some of the Icelanders can help me, or maybe someone who knows the norse myths. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good english translation of Havamal? An online version would be great, but details of a printed copy would be just as welcome.

Cool - thanks both  I'd already come across the first link - but each translation I find seems to bring something new. Sometimes it seems like translators try to make these kind of texts sound more special by putting lots of 'wherefores', 'hences' etc in; I prefer the ones with more modern language but, not speaking icelandic, I've no way of knowing how close any of them are to the spirit of the original.
Looks like it's going to keep me occupied for some time though Thanks again.
