I remember in my first corp getting our cruisers and heading way out west. How it took forever to reach the edge. Then ratting till our ammo was gone and holds were full of loot. Then how it took forever to get home hoping we didn't run into anyone.

When every useable system has 25 people in it at all times, then yes eve will need more space. But there are 100's of systems that never get mined, rats that live on. Until that happens there is just no need for more space. GM Homonoia: In other words; feel free to use the tactic, but don't be an utter and total ***. |

EVE is actually too big at the moment. I'm sure if 20% of the systems just disappeared overnight, nobody would miss them. |

Laying claim to Out of Pod Experience since 2007, plain and simple. Keep the trash out of Out Of Pod Experience, If it's EVE Related or deserves a Lock, it does not belong here. |

The problem isn't the size of the universe. The problem is how easy it is to jump from one place to another. Far too easy to exert control over a wide area of space with all the supers, jump freighters and jump gates. |

that's because 100s of systems have **** belt ores, and **** ratting sites so nobody wants to go there. until they suck less wang than a hooker on the day the soldiers come home they will continue to be empty. On the nose.
Also, the highway system could stand to be looked at again. It is perhaps a bit too efficient in Empire. To carve a successful niche for yourself in EVE you need to be able to out sell, out produce, out fight,-á out run, or out wit your competitors. If you can do none of the above, your only option is to complain on the forums that somehow you are at a disadvantage using the exact same tool set-áas the rest of the player base. |

so wait, it was big enough but now it's too small? what made it feel smaller? we should address that before expanding the game map and it's not actually making the game feel bigger due to what changed.
i could said why i feel that way, but I'm interested in what the OP has to say. how did the game change to make space feel so small. for you. http://dl.eve-files.com/media/1206/scimi.jpg |

Far too easy to exert control over a wide area of space with all the supers, jump freighters and jump gates. This is just typical highsec pubbie bullcrap. You clearly have no idea how much effort actually goes into logistics setups and sov infrastructure, it is not just some "I-win" butan you push every now and again. Most alliances who can hold onto sov have incredible people who can organise this crap, but just because exceptional people get involved in sov infrastructure doesn't make it too easy or overpowered. Indeed. The gates need to disappear, and the galaxy needs to increase by 2-10 times...

I can to some degree understand that the universe of eve has become smaller. If you go into help or the rookie channel you'll see new players whining about going 2-3 jumps for a mission and when you first start playing the universe does feel huge, though after a while you get used to going a few jumps and the universe "shrinks".
Though making it bigger isn't the solution, the game has a lot of "problems" that needs to be fixed long before we expand it in size. |

Definitelly +1
There is nothing to explore, nothing new to see for years. Last Eve Online expansion - Apocrypha 2009. I know that fixing the game is important but I also know that people are bored for seeing that the game is like closed box with no hope of finding new interesting space with new interesting content. Even adding more virigin nullsec space on the other side of wh chain would be something.

TLDR: Jump bridges, Jump freighters, carriers, titan bridges, Warp to 0, Technetium....
Carriers & Jump Freighters
Carriers and JFs make industry in 0.0 completely redundant as everything except Super Caps can be produced in the safety of 0.0 and transported risk free to 0.0. TBH I'm an underdog in 0.0 and removing carriers would mess me up royally since I got no industry going on, BUT I have played and survived when there weren't even player build stations or POS so for the good of EVE I wouldn't ***** about it.
Jump Bridges
These allow blobs to move around with little coordination and effort, practically when an alliance gets to the point of "critical mass" it can just conquer region after region and hold control of it via JB networks. This is why we don't see the colorful maps of the past and only have like 3-4 power blocks that are in mutual agreement on resource distribution. JBs killed 0.0 drama, I rather miss it!
Titan Bridges
One word: Hot-drop! Yes it is pretty impossible now to wage guerrilla warfare so your only hope in 0.0 is either run and hide or join a blob.
Warp To 0
When the problem with BMs arose and was being debated this was probably the worst solution CCP chose. The better solution would have been preventing warping to a gate within 10-15km. If you wanna slip past a gate camp then u would use a fast ship, or a cloak, besides more than half of ships get killed on the inbound gate not the outbound, if you"re lazy enough to scan a gate before warping to it you deserve to be toasted. Warp to 0 is another factor that makes EVE feel too small.
Technetium
It could have been anything; bottleneck resources being distributed severely uneven makes majority of the regions not worth fighting for. In the end these regions are filled with renter alliances and suppressed with the help of JB networks. The inhabitants of inferior regions simply cant hold up to the arms race of tech holders.
On the other hand, increasing the size of the universe by adding more regions and systems wont solve anything, neither will adding separate regions accessible over WHs only, that will only split the universe and make EVE feel sharded.
