Ok, So I just read the patch notes for Tyrannis 1.0.5 currently being deployed today.
What I see are 2 items to address a specific hardware type. Alienware M17x laptop.
"Why did you put WTH in the title" you say?
Well, hang on CCP, there have been issues with the MAC client you've known for long enough, only, this patch addresses what must equate to an extremely low client base compared to volume of MAC clients you have.
Is there an inherent discrimination process CCP is applying here, or do the dev's focus on fixing the things that cut their game time? I'm guessing one of the dev's now owns this alienware laptop.
No thats ok, don't worry about other customers, or your paying customers. They can go eat pie right?
I wont enter into a debate over what things MAC customers are experiencing. We all report them anyway.

CCP has answered this before, twice in the last week I think....
CCP doesn't control the mac client, they release Mac updates as Cider gives them to CCP.
That's why we ALL want a native mac client, so like the other Large MMO, everything can be simultaneous release and all features are up to par.

It's getting more and more obvious that CCP doesn't control the Mac client. Why are they collecting our money, then?

CCP does not collect money for the client, it is free. They collect money for connecting to their server.

Someone cut some wires in your implants?
We connect using the MAC client they distribute. Cider dont distribute it. I dont chose to use cider, CCP did.
To simply say, 'its cider, nothing to do with us' is like your cell operator saying 'your reception is nothing to do with us, its you fault for using the handset we gave you and put the software on.
Or are you not interested in the fact they they fix the alienware client over the MAC?
If you are, perhaps flaming me for saying something that has already been said isnt getting anywhere either. And thanks to that addition, now this thread may well be railroaded with just that.
Remind yourself where this started. CCP pushed out
1 whole patch
to every client regardless whether you need it or not
to fix 2 issues with 1 laptop model

In fairness, at the time CCP made the choice to produce a Mac client, there was very little in terms of viable options. Transgamings product was the most cost efficient and speedy method. There are better options now Valve has made a large push on to the Apple platform. But there was no way CCP was going to spend years refactoring the code into a native Mac Client when they could just reuse what they had and distribute using Cider.
I don't really understand why you think there is a specific client for Alienware computers? There is one Client, and CCP was trying to fix a bug which was in relation to a feature they added a few patches back that utilized something specific to Alienware/Dell computers.
And you may remember that the previous patch 1.0.4 had some major fixes in relation to the Mac Client, so I don't see why your *****ing...

And you may remember that those major fixes created more problems than they fixed.
That is a whole other subject. The topic is not about how effective a patch is in terms of fixing bugs, it was about frequency. The fact that CCP can fix a problem specific to one laptop, instead of having to wait for another company to give them answers and a solution.

I should like very much to get a quality service for which I pay when I use my MAC to connect to their SERVERS.
