Thinking about a Tengu/Legion duo for quickly running sites in C3 wormholes. HML Tengu works fine as it is, but frigs tend to be annoying to deal with. Have another character that wouldn't take too long to get in a Legion and I thought "hey maybe there's a way to set a Legion up so it can easily deal with the frigs while the Tengu shreds larger targets."
Well I have no experience with a Legion, so I come to you. What do you think? How would you set up a Legion for this purpose and to otherwise support the Tengu? Or is this silly and I should just go with one of the standard Legion solo fits?

Pretty much the standard Legion C3 fit, can one-volley kill frigates at 30km with Scorch M as well as pop them at close (5-14km) range.
Faction fit to taste, T2 is sufficient but the Fed Navy web is really nice for slowing the Sleepers down so you can track them.

Legions are great for running C3, particularly on anti frigate duty. Currently flying the following:
[Legion, C3 Sleeper Fit] Corpum A-Type Medium Armor Repairer Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Armor Thermic Hardener II Armor EM Hardener II Imperial Navy Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane
10MN Afterburner II Dread Guristas Stasis Webifier Domination Stasis Webifier Large Capacitor Battery II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Imperial Navy Multifrequency M
Medium Nanobot Accelerator I Medium Auxiliary Nano Pump I Medium Capacitor Control Circuit I
Legion Defensive - Nanobot Injector Legion Offensive - Liquid Crystal Magnifiers Legion Electronics - Tactical Targeting Network Legion Engineering - Capacitor Regeneration Matrix Legion Propulsion - Fuel Catalyst
Mine's been faction pimped, but only the repairer is a particularly huge sum of isk and can quickly pay for itself in a C3. The Cap Battery gives a much better boost than a cap recharger, and should be easy to fit with this subsystem layout without the second repper and damage rig.
PS - comparing to that other Legion fit that only uses a single Thermal hardener unlike mine I've released EFT shows mine would work better with 2x faction EAMN and a thermal hardener. So will be refitting mine later lol.
With my skills mine is tanking 525dps (speed+small sig really helps against sleeper missiles, and you can outdo BS laser tracking quite easily when close up) 500dps damage with Multi, 400dps with scorch at just over 30km.

I swapped my usual spare Cap booster for another web, and the DS SS for TTN, as you'll want the scan res to lock the frigs even quicker and get a few good scorch volleys in before you need to switch to multi. Depending on how well the pilot knows the site you could always be in range to sniper them, or immediately web and then move on to the BSs. Pimp the webs for better range->tracking->uber frigate pwnage. That or perhaps a targetting computer but the second web will help get the tengu dps down on the other stuff. |

Thanks for the input so far, folks.
My question here is - so the medium turrets won't have difficulty tracking the frigs? (I'm not at all familiar with Amarr weapons, so this might be a stupid question) Didn't see a tracking enhancer or anything like that in the fits...

at long range frigates dont make a lot of transversal. as they are pretty much comming right at you.
at short range when they got close you web them so you can track them.

And of course you switch from scorch to multifrequency which doesn't have such a tracking penalty. Instant crystals reload ftw. |

Ehm, you want to bring in an extra t3 to help your tengu kill frigs?
shame on you.
My advice would be, take a good look at your current Tengu fit.
Also, train missle support skills for the tengu, add proper missle rigs, add a web or tp to your fit and use hml's.

Even with max skills, frigates can be killed faster by a Legion. It pops them the instant it locks and fires.
Here's a C4 fit for the collection:

Damn that's a pimping fit :) Would love to be able to afford an A-Type EAMN to add to my fit for extra tank like that.
I was expecting with 2 Reppers the cap would struggle, but its solid :)

It can be down-graded to True Sansha faction stuff, but you do lose tank so it won't be C4 worthy anymore.
Actually, as ISK goes, I'm jealous of it as it costs less to fit than my C4 Tengu.
There are also two or three equivalent stats deadspace modules, which means greater supply and lower prices. Pick which ever one is the cheapest.

Come to a C4. You need about 1200 DPS tank to survive 4 Sleepless safeguards.
