Sorceror Majiir wrote:LOL okay hold a sec I'm gonna pee myself I'm laughing so hard... whew, okay where to begin.. well first your misusing the notion of a martyr, I disagree. Much of your post was going on and on about how terrible it is to mine, and how CCP should reimburse you for the real-life sacrifice miners make in order to produce everyone else's ships.
Quote:but if you want to say - I want to bring attention to your griefing , then yeah you would be right. In that case, you're doing a poor job. I still haven't seen you point to any griefing activity on my part.
Quote:Really, so your saying that the dev's spend god knows how much money developing mining and the use of minerals to make things just so lazy perps like you would have a target? Got it.. "rolls eyes" "more uncontrolled laughter" I'll put aside the issue of whether the mining aspect of EVE has really been that developed--I'll just point out how you're the one who spent most of a post talking about how boring and lifeless it is. As to the "target providing" aspect of your question, well...Not in those terms, but kind of yes. Miners are the bottom of the PvP foodchain. They are meant to be targets for the rest of us.
Quote:Lol, clearly you missed most of the main points in my post but heh that doesn't really surprise me. Just so we're clear, your a perp, extorting isk from players..check, I don't "extort" anyone. I am bringing revolutionary change to a part of the game that needs to be fundamentally transformed. We can't continue down the path of automated mining in absolute safety. That would kill the game, which you would know if you read my Manifestos on the subject. Miners must be required to follow a set of laws, which I have conveniently codified. And yeah, the miners are going to have to give me some isk. Ten million a year. Boo-freakin'-hoo.
Quote:you think it's cute to roleplay that.. - check. Your oblivious to anyone but yourself and could care less if your actions have an adverse affect on the game and Eve - check I "roleplay" a businessman and leader in the same way that you "roleplay" a disgruntled miner. |

Hmm.. We need to band together to help James315 expand his operation into every high sec ice mining field in the universe. Train 2 or 3 professional bumpers to handle each field 24 hours a day. The bots would no longer be able to drive prices down and miners who don't wish to follow the New Code would not be able to mine ice. That kind of control over those resources would potentially send the price of ice through the roof, making it far more profitable for the ice miners who already follow the New code. Not to mention the investment potential if we could get in on the ground floor.
@James315: Any thoughts as to when you may open up more shares for sale? I'd love to invest in your current and future expansions. :) |

In my opinion everything in James' posts revolves around this for all parties regardless of what comes after. This is an MMO after all and is meant to be enjoyed...by the standards that you see fit... in the environment provided by the developer and the rules they establish. The enjoyment of the OP and the enjoyment of the haters do not have to be the same and in fact is what is great about MMO's; that so many different personalities can come together and create a world filled with enjoyment and pain. More So the latter in EvE and is what sets this game apart from so many other cookie cutter games.
That we have something like this to talk about, that we have something to band together on and either cheer or hate makes this one of the best MMO's out there.
For the haters out there, relax a little (not really! keep on trolling and hating for the drama!) and enjoy the game for what it is. As most things in EvE, it will not last indefinitely and you will have stories to tell for years to come because of it. To be honest, 10 million is a paltry sum for those who have Hulks and Orca's at their disposal, the thing they are opposed to is the audacity of the request rather than the sum. This small sum keeps it within my minimalistic tolerances for being GÇÿmaliciousGÇÖ in a game and IGÇÖm thoroughly enjoying living vicariously through the OP in his semi-extortionistic ways thus coming full circle to the opening, this is my GÇ£rollplayGÇ¥ and my version of enjoyment.
Keep doing what you're doing James. Enjoy the game. |

I'm pleased to present two posters celebrating the New Order of Highsec! Both of these were created by the talented Sun Win, one of our investors, who evemailed me earlier today:
HOPE MERCY
I have added these to the OP and will include them in the list of links so future readers will be able to enjoy them as well. If anyone else has artistic gifts or feels inspired, don't be shy about sending them in. I'm sure many will appreciate the effort as much as I do. |

You seem to have gotten a little agitated and confused, so here's some tips to help you out. This is a forum for discussing the business of Eve. You seem to have stumbled across one of the more exciting new ventures where James 315 is attempting to run a new hybrid government/enterprise. Perhaps you are already knew this? Your blatherings give me the impression that you are one of James' reluctant subjects. I'm worried that in all the excitement you might have gotten lost. You keep talking about role playing but this isn't a role playing forum. The role playing forum is over here. Then you go on to make some suggestions for some new modules and/or anchorable structures (the details weren't clear to me). The ships and modules forum is over here. I have no idea what you were trying to get at with the bit about deadspace cloaking things but that would probably be best brought up in the missions and complexes forum or, to be frank, general discussion. Hope this helps and best of luck in your future endeavours. P.S. Seriously though, just pay the fee and this will go a lot easier for you.
Ah thanks for the welcome. :)
Since this post is about extortion and griefing, I believe this thread is not a market discussion but rather a facade of a legitimate market discussion and is in fact an attempt to legitimize what I consider a detrimental and epidemic game phenomenon.
*bump*
since the post is full of role play from the OP why would I want to go anywhere else?
*bump*
I assure you, I never have, nor ever will pay any extorter, griefer, or any other perps anything.. ever. I do however find great enjoyment in expressing my opinion on such matters. Heck, kicking dirt in the face of evil is almost more fun than playing the game. I really don't expect the perps to change, but maybe, if they ever stop to think about what they do. Or they will simply get bored, or the devs will nix whatever loophole they've discovered. In fact, it's this last point that actually does **** me off. No one even thinks about how much effort, time, and real money the devs have to exert to counter all this perp crap. Imagine all the new content that doesn't get written because a dev has to go fix this exploit, or this other thing perps are using. It's sad really.

I am Supreme Protector of Halaima and Kamio. When I suspect there are botters knocking about, I deal with them myself, according to my own rules. I don't waste my time with red tape and bureaucracy. Consider me the Jack Bauer of EVE. I do what's necessary. You may not like the way I go about it, but at the end of the day, I get results. We're both adults, Vaerah, so let's just level with each other. No pretense, no baloney. We both know that whenever people recount their use the "report bot" function, it's some variation of, "I reported the bots X times but they're still here." Yes, by all means, petition people for botting. But we cannot abdicate our own responsibilities. It's our community, so we deal with the problems ourselves. In any case, I'm less concerned about botters violating the EULA than I am with their violations of the Code of Conduct. If the fire department guy sees a woman being attacked in a road he will dial the police. Reporting botters in no way hinders your responsibilities. You can still bump and burn them at leisure, CCP take their time to deal with them so you have ample room to do your stuff.
Hi VV, J is prolly a goonie alt (check his history) trying to escalate ice prices while extorting miners and he has a long history of griefing. Prolly made the alt just for that purpose... |

Good news on the Sorceror Majiir front. I received a mining fee on behalf of Sorceror from investor Rykker Bow, who wrote me the following:
Quote:I would like to donate a 10m mining license on behaf of Sorceror Majiir. Feel free to let him and everyone in the thread how great it is to have him on board and he can mine any time he wants.
Being an 11 day old alt, he will need to train up a bit but thankfully the license is for a whole year! Another act of generosity on the part of those who support the New Order. Everyone in EVE will bear witness to our superior character. I have set Sorceror to positive standings for the next 365 days.
Sorceror, you may not have intended it, but I thank you for making this donation possible. This is just the first step on your road to recovery. Welcome aboard! |

I am ashamed, for a while I thought lots of the humor was quickly being used up in this thread, and here you and Rykker Bow have a massive dose of laughter injected..... A great lesson for me that this is a long process and journey and we are still just at the beginning with lots of uncharted areas to navigate.
I look forward in anticipation to unforeseen humor to surface here now.
Kudos to you both for defusing this situation and finding a solution that works for all parties invovled!! LMAO

I had a quick technique question -- in your post, you mention gently bumping an orca, and the screenshots show it moving at a fairly slow pace. Why not use a 100mn MWD stabber fleet issue to punt the orca dozens of kilometers? You need a fairly good leadup (I used the full 150km allowed by the interface, before "approach" turns to "align to", a command that cannot be performed on a ship >150km away) and cap injection, but it will send the orca careening into the void, unable to warp away for a good 10 minutes or more. |

Loosen your grip on the shaft, nobody is trying to usurp your position there, coin purse.
All this reminds me of the myriad of times that Krang and Shredder tried to take over/destroy/transport New York to another dimension. You guys are some clowns, seriously.
Honestly though, if James was legit, there'd be wreckage, not bumper cars. Until then, just busters who couldn't hack it anywhere else. A good predator knows how to live in balance with his prey, lest he follow them into oblivion. |

A stabber with an oversized propulsion mod sounds like fun. I know you can also get good results against orcas using speed-fitted battleships. Ordinarily I don't bother with orcas and the like; I just bump hulks, macks, retrievers, etc., so I'm fitted for maneuverability instead.
