Idea for a station module that jams all probes rendering them useless. only can be fitted on player owned stations in 0.0 and in wormholes. can be onlined and offlined like normal. just an idea.

Edited by: Fist1 on 15/09/2010 05:08:17 how would I scan down sites to run in a WH if i cant use probes? How would i even get out my own WH?
There's something to the idea of neuts and reds not being able to use probes in your 0.0 system though

a better/workable version would be to have a pos module/deployable that makes an area invisible to probes. Like a cloak.

Equally good would be the ability to anchor deployables that look to probes/dir scan like ships or other items.

I'd assume you turn offline it when you're scanning, and turn it on when you've bookmarked all the sites or going offline. This way, others can't harvest site in your wh when you're offline, and no one can get the jump on you when you're running sites.
It's just a way to carebear in absolute safety in wh/sov-null. Highsec carebears suffer griefer attacks at their mission sites, what makes you entitled to absolute safety in null? Not supported.

Do like the idea of decoy probes/anchorables (but would create more objects and so more lag)

Sorry this gets a big no from me. We need things to be more dangerous out there in space not less!!
If you want to claim space and reap the benefits they you have to defend it! If you want to know you are safe in a WH then you better defend it's access points.

Edited by: Lemmy Kravitz on 19/09/2010 01:24:18 It'd have to be sit out side of the pos bubble, or I like the idea better where it's it's own thing like a cyno jammer, out in the middle of no where, uses fuel. It may block probing in the system, but anyone can get an instant 100% on it. idk. this is just a kick around idea.
I do like the mockup deployable idea someone threw out that allows you to buy little things that give off probing signatures like a real ship would. lots of interesting things you can do with that. like throw it in a belt as bait. Sit there in something cloaky and see what pops in to look.
or if you're rock hounding, deploy two of those thingies so it looks like 2x megathron are in belt with you on scan and probe.
