Rooks and Kings are presently in the process of invading J105934, a Class 6 Magnetar, billed as the most impenetrable place in Eve and we've won the first battle. J105934 has never been conquered and is the stronghold of Aperture Harmonics, who have amassed inumerable assets and invested into a vast infrastructure in the system.
The first battle was to determine -
1) How can a Megathron with blasters antimatter hit for full damage at 180km with perfect tracking and no variation in hit type? (i.e. no lightly hit, etc. every hit does identical damage)
2) How can medium autocannons with short range ammo hit at over 150km for full damage on a target?
3) Ultimately, how can one build a ship that can hit at 249km with blasters, using infinite tracking with each hit landing for the theoretical maximum?

One of the best things about EvE is the fact anyone, any time, can through good fortune and cunning become filthy rich.
Beyond that? IBTL.

It was explained in the media yesterday (massively.com), so it's old news. But I think the Aperture guys are quite dumb for using it in PVP and therefore making it public. Should have kept this secret and use it for PVE, this way they could abuse this exploit for years ...

Why people saying IBTL? This is the most interesting thread I've seen on these forums for months. GL to R+K, wish I was with you fighting the lame sploiters, sounds like fun, and nice detective work. Hope you get a good few kills in before the banhammer descends on AHARM.

And once again, a game mechanic becomes an exploit because everyone says so.

'cause mods locked every thread that came up over the last hours about it and that's because exploits must not be discussed on the eve-o forums (this doesn't include scrapheap, massively or kugu***** though)

Why does everybody feel the need to cheat? Are you so bad at EVE?

Just because it's posted on some other website a day beforehand doesn't mean it's old news. I'm pretty sure a lot of people don't actually read Massively.com, so without the article being posted on these forums they would never have known what was going on.

I've been wondering the same thing as well. Surely they aren't THAT stupid...
The only explanation I could come up with, is that they used the exploit as a crutch for so long that when something that wasn't a sleeper showed up they didn't know what to do. Well, except for using the exploit.

For some people, finding ways to go around the rules is more interesting than the game itself. Insert comment about sandbox. ___________ EVE is dying! Now for real! |

Quote: This was petitioned some time ago, as obviously its a bit funny. It was escalated to a senior GM and the final response was "wormhole bonuses are meant to be used."

Gotta say that was my first impression? I had always been given to believe wormholes bonuses are funky at times and can result in lulz? Why is it an exploit exactly?

It all depends on what information was presented in the petition If it didn't make it clear that there were some rather unexpected side effects that clearly should not be happening, then the GM's might have thought the petition'ed effects were just normal bonuses.
E.g. the reaction exploit petition was submitted in german, which also didn't get caught by the GMs.

Would have been far more dodgy if we tried to keep it a secret tbh, but instead we used it in an obvious fashion. We knew R&K would find out immediately and would try to reproduce it, though of course we prefered if they took longer to duplicate it. Either way, we had the ok given by a senior GM so we didn't feel the need to hide it in pvp.
Scream for blood all you want, but this has been known by CCP since february.
