I know recently there was a chnage where datacores were linked into factional war shops ?
My question is can you still get them the old fashioned way through R&D agents. I been trying to search for this but all i keep on coming back with are threads full of the changes, threads full of tears and HTFU comments, but can't seem to find any new guide on the datacore process ?
Maybe my EvE-Search Fu is weak ? |

Yes, you can still obtain datacores through the old method of the R&D agents, but I believe it's at a reduced rate. |

The rates were altered as were the cash out rates. Basically, datacores cost 100 r&d points now. You get about 1 datacore every other day it seems too. |

R&D agents still exist and function as they have previously (need standing + related skill / skill level).
What did change is the amount of research points and an added isk cost per datacore. It roughly comes out to about 1/2 the amount of research points generated per day, and 10,000isk per datacore, which really isn't very bad. |

It's all detailed at the bottom of this dev blog: http://community.eveonline.com/devblog.asp?a=blog&nbid=28659
Which has the title "Factional Warfare Overhaul" so I'm not surprised you couldn't find it!
The implications are that if you're "farming" the old way, you're now much better going for the cores for those factions which are losing FW - the cores which the winners can buy from their stores should decline in price on the market. Of course, FW is not static; Minmatar might be winning over Amarr right now but they may not be in 3 month's time. http://eveonomics.blogspot.co.uk/
