As the title suggests, does anyone know exactly what is ment by CCPs announcement that Incursion will include "a more dynamic and simplified system for Planetary Interaction"?
Any thoughts? I hold my breath in hope that it won't take me nearly an hour to cycle my 3 toons 15 sites of 10-15 extractors everyday!

Yes, some of the changes are already on singularity as a work in progress. But from what I've seen you'll be able to upgrade command centers, and the conversion from click sink to think sink is being made by replacing individual extrators for extrator control units which act like a group of extrators and you can manage more easily to get the best possible amount of resources.
Looks promising so far.

Wow sounds good, do you have a link? Thought command centers could be upgraded already? (ie standard/advanced/elite etc) is this not it? What would upgraded command centers do (if this is not the type of upgrade)?

Can't upgrade com centers right now, you have to destroy the entire colony to place a higher grade center at the moment, which means your current investment goes bye bye just to go from say advanced to elite center. Glad they're fixing that.
This 'extractor control unit' idea sounds like it has promise, would like to know more about how these work. I'm betting that the amount of time required to do PI isn't necessarily going down, or I could say I'm hoping it doesn't, has to be some sort of time investment or you'll have everyone flooding the market to get 'easy isks'. But if they some how manage to maintain the time investment required and reduce the amount of dumb double clicking, I'm all for it.

Didn't look to me that time would go down, but that it would become more engaging and less monotony, particularly if fine tuning for optimal output, so it probably won't feel as time consuming.

From the quick play I have had it looks like the Extractors work like this.
Each Extractor CC has 10 slots. Each slot is an 'extractor'. The more you have the more power / cpu used by the ECC.
When you survey for 'stuffs' you move the extractors around and change their range of influance. This in turn modifies the /cycle amount and run time.
There is a wizzy graph showing the extraction rate over time so as you get to the end you will see the resource dropping off.
Basically, less clicking + resources that get used up means that less attention = less isk.

I would like them to incorporate a system that takes a while to actually build up, yet the more it builds, the more profit you'll achieve. It makes the idea of Dust a whole lot more believable, because the way it currently is you can easily rebuild a nuked colony.
The goal is to build infrastructure that doesn't need to be rebuilt, and that would take a while to rebuild. Current profits from a batch of Elite Command centers is around 10 - 20 mil per week in 0.0. I would like the ability to upgrade to be making 100 mil per week, but that profit would be attained through a year of planning & upgrading. If that's torn down, then it would take a long time to get back to where you were.
The idea of building something that takes a while to build but is very profitable after it's been built is what really excited me about PI, and I hope they don't Brandon that idea.

great, because all that clicking gets old after the first extractor reload.

Longer cycles/less clicks over time for those who want it...
.. oh and shifting resource hotspots, so the clicks you safe on your cycles, you'll just spend moving extractors around. Unless you want it to be totally worthless
TL:DR û Same ****, different wrapping. Net effect is the same, just a little less macro-friendly.

I really don't want to see them tie anything to Dust too strongly since Dust will be a huge flop. A console only shooter that ties in with a PC only mmo? Brilliant...

and you have how much past experiences with this? the fact is this has never been done before, so no one know how it will turn out, not even CCP.
