As many folks know, Terry Pratchett was knighted by the Queen a while back, due to his incredible awesomeness.
Sir Terry, understanding such things better than most people, knows that a proper knight needs a proper sword, appropriate to his line of knightly endeavors.
So he made his own sword, made in the old, traditional ways..... and he made it from meteorites.
"several pieces of meteorites ù thunderbolt iron, you see ù highly magical, youÆve got to chuck that stuff in whether you believe in it or not".

I got to meet Sir Terry at a book signing once. He's even funnier in real life than his books and a really nice guy.
