No one can lay claim to a word. I see no reason why EVE would have to stop using the word 'pod'.

I was not aware that Apple made an implant protecting device made from pixels. Or even had a similar product which could cause confusion in the minds of the general public over whether they were dealing with a product from Apple or CCP.

I find it even funnier how people think strapping an LCD display, some buttons and some media-playback software onto a HDD constitutes as a revolutionizing new device.. (read: original iPod).

Just because Apple is willing to go to trial doesn't mean they'll win. Just threatening lawsuit every time a small company uses a word related to their products is a strategy in itself. Many businesses will be dissuaded by the costs of litigation, regardless of the legal merits (or lack thereof) of Apple's lawsuit.
As the article said, Apple makes it a matter of course to sue smaller companies whenever they touch the word 'pod' in a multimedia-related product.
Big company bludgeoning out the opposition with a fat wallet, enabled by a legal system biased towards well-funded combatants. Nothing new here. |

Loyalty to any corporate entity is ridiculous. My friend is obsessed with everything pertaining to Apple and Blizzard. It makes no sense to me. They don't care about people. All they care about is profit. If ripping you off with cheap inferior products will bring more profit then they will do it. All corps are ****.

Although I enjoy and hate the game at times. I would like to see CCP have their arses sued, regadless by who, a player hopefully. It might knock them off of their high horse, and bring them back to ground level.:)

Same old bull****, more money for richer people while killing the small time guys.
They have been pulling this kind of marketting ****e ever since they brought out the first Iphone, deliberately bringing it out with old hardware with features your average PDA has had for years and then bringing out a new model like the 3G and 3GS with slighty faster hardware clocks and "added" 3G despite it being around for years....hell 4G was just hitting blackberries and android phones just after the 3GS was released.
I hope the ceo gets hit with a fukin truck.
Technically we cant call phones, phones the way they are acting.....or Nanofiber II's nano's because of the Ipod Nano...which also has a new release btw!
Its half the size for double the price, AMAZING...but wait.....its like a shuffle which cost 1/3 the price BUT...BUT it has a screen large enough to read the text!!!!!1one!
I am pretty sure they tried to sue someone that put "I" at the start of a product name a year or so back
