Edited by: Draconigea on 24/09/2010 15:05:50 Hi guys,
I have made a new Mining Timer, that will help you to deactivate your Strip Miners at the right time, if the asteroid, you are mining, is empty. And if your cargo is full.
You can set up your Barge or Exhumer and also you support-ship. Even Drones are included.
And here is the link: http://www.angry-angels.eu/DracosMiningTimer.rar
If you find any bugs or you have an idea to make this better, don't hesitate to mention it.
I got this idea from another post here in the forum, but the tool had no support ship and just one timer. So I made my own one

Good job. I haven't tested this with a mining ship yet and hope to do so in the next 24 hours. Is there a possibility of adding a "time left" area? Instead of showing elapsed time, I'd like to know how much time is left instead.

nevermind. I see it.
new question:
I tried to see if the timer would be in synce with the ship itself. if I set the quantity 1 to the max capacity that the ship can hold, then why does the timer continue to run after the cargohold is full?
Example: My retriever can mine 30010 units of Veldspar in about 6 minutes. The alarm goes off but the elapsed time continues. Why?

First thing...The elapsed timer should stop. If it doesn't do so, download it again, just uploaded a new version. I testet it with this version, and it stopped correctly.
Second thing...what is your problem with .Net 4.0. Its just the up-to-date version of the .Net framework. And I delveloped this tool with the Visual Studio 2010, where .Net 4.0 is default. You keep your browser up-to-date don't you? So why not this?

The page cannot be displayed because an internal server error has occurred.
Is this still avaliable? I've been using Mr. Xofar's eve mining timer iii for quiet sometime, but I believe he's stopped development on it. I'd love a new one, but I get the error above when I try your link.

looks like the link in the OP was incorrect, try this: http://www.angry-angels.eu/DracosMiningTimer/DracosMiningTimer.rar

Excellent, thanks for the fixed link!
These timers are not accurate. The amount of ore mined per cycle seems to be off, but that could be just a visual error. However, ignoring the visual, and just testing the timer on a rock size I know I would finish in one cycle, it comes up with a much shorter duration than it should.
My suggestion would be, change the options to ask only "how long is a cycle" and "how much ore per cycle". I can get both of these numbers in game. I don't need the timer to calculate these numbers for me. It would simplify the configuration screen, and put the burden of error on the user, instead of the program being the one that's incorrect.
Also, I noticed you have timers for up to 3 miners, but the configuration screen is only for 1 miner. Is the intention that all these miners will be the exactly same? This too is an issue for me, as one of my miners is only exhumers 4, while the others are exhumers 5.
Thanks for the options, and I'll keep up on your development, but sadly, I can't use this yet.

Edited by: Oso Jinoki on 16/11/2010 16:15:35 I see that you have updated your original post and fixed the link, but you didn't respond to me, or the issue on cycle yield. I thought maybe this was because I didn't describe it in a way that made sense to you. I've decided I should post you a link to the options window, where you can see the calculated m3 per cycle is off.
link
While I wouldn't complain if I really could mine 560k m3 per cycle, sadly I can not. I'm assuming this issue has to do with the crystals part of the math, because it's when I add crystals that I get this number. I really hope you can fix this, thanks for your time.
