This is very newbie but I'm having difficulty doing lvl2 kill missions. I've been trying them in a kestrel but I keep getting blown up. Fighting things like Gurista wreckers and despoilers

train for a mwd if u havnt got one and keep your distance.
it'll work on all but the deadspace missions.
High Slots 4x standard missile launchers with bloodclaw
Med Slots 1x 1mn mwd 0-1x small shield booster 0-2x small or micro cap batteries
Low Slots 2x cap relays or anything to fit the above
that should do you fine, for deadspace just fit an ab and small shield booster.
start to save and train for a cruiser (caracal?) ----------------------------------------

are you tryin to orbit them? Well, if u dont, then i guess we need more details, cuz I cant imagine a situation were kessy would get owned by npc frigs.
Anyway just keep range (AB is enough for that) on the edge of light missle range (do they still have 1km/s speed? havent tryed them lately ) and wtfpwn rats with bloodclaws. ____ When flying by Concord Customs Commander's Dominix I distinctly heard him saying "... world domination..." |

sometimes they are not so easy... But as the others say you don't give that much info.. what I can think of is if you are tanking or using a weak tank? Are you watching your shiled/armor? can you use AB, MWD?

Edited by: Linis Erens on 02/01/2005 00:12:54 Using piercers suggestion (without mwd yet) I managed to do the mission but I'm still getting hurt a lot. I'm afraid I'm a bit new to this but I'm trying to keep my distance. I can lock target at 40km but thats too far to hit them it seems. I guess thats because light missiles travel at 1k/s but their max flight time is 25 seconds.

Yes, that's right, the range of light missiles is about 25km.
It probably won't help you much at the moment, but level 2 missions are balanced towards players in cruisers, so it's natural that you have some problems in a frigate. Train some more skills, buy yourself a Caracal, then you can show those rats who's boss

Edited by: Linis Erens on 02/01/2005 00:40:47 Actually I have around 11million isk, been away from the game for a long time but this char does have some skills. May purchase one soon. ALthough I'd probably just destroy it

I dont know about Exodus, but in Castor i did lvl2 missions in kessy, and it was pretty easy... i'd even say too easy... The only one i had some problems with was Damsel mission, because there was a cruiser rat in it. ____ When flying by Concord Customs Commander's Dominix I distinctly heard him saying "... world domination..." |

Been doing Level 2 missions in a kestrel for a while now, only 1 gives me problems (Deadspace with 2 turrets). I use 3 missle launchers (bloodclaw), 1 rocket launcher (defenders), small shield booster, 1MN AB, small cap booster (50s or 75s as the rats drop them), small armor repairer, basic nanofiber.
280k SP, so I'm not uber skilled :)
Just stay at 24k from everything and shoot it (not orbiting, but running).

Nah lvl 2 is easy in a kessie, all you have to do is sit at 23-24K and fling missiles. The NPC's are either shooting lights at you which will never hit because you are moving, or shooting you at extreme range (in which case a small shield booster should be enough).

The missions have become slightly harder now, but I won't argue that they still can be done in a Kessie. If you have decent skill points. And if you know what you are doing
But if you take an average player with an average frigate, and a level of SP that doesn't let him fly anything bigger, then he should do level 1 missions. It's the same wiht the higher level missions - if you are good, level 3 can be done in a cruiser, and level 4 solo in a battleship, but "non-l33t" players will use a battleship for level 3 and a gang for level 4
