could a mod move this if this isnt the right place please.
well this is an xbox question :)
im applying a bigger heatsink and fan to my xbox 360, but ive decided to use the copper base that was previously on for the motherboard attachments, its like an x with a plate underneath. so what i need is some sort of glue that will attach the copper plate to the heat sink and will allow heat to transfer through to the heat sink. not the processor to the plate, i can use thermal paste here.
would metal epoxy resin work, or will it give off a stink? would super glue?
all help will be appreciated.

Arctic silver thermal adhesive works very well. I've used it for lots of applications like putting heat spreaders on the memory of my vid cards.

Edited by: Barakkus on 30/09/2010 22:18:43 You could use the arctic silver and a couple tiny pieces of mighty putty temperature threshold on that stuff is like 250 degrees, so shouldn't burn up when the **** gets hot.

looks like a good idea, but would that lift the heat sink from the base and not allow contact? but too little and it will fall off?
