Given this is about Third Party Programs I decided MD is more relevant than the bug forums :).
I use EVEMon on all my accounts, using Full APIs also, but have also started to use EveTrader on one of them to help make trading a little less time consuming. I have the issue that I can't update both, which EVEMon does automatically, due to the one hour timeout. Other than switching to Limited API on EVEMon, is there anything that can be done to resolve this?
I've read a bit about proxies lately but don't believe EveTrader nor EVEMon uses them, if you know otherwise please let me know :).

I suggest you go to EVEMon options, and switch off that it's downloading the market data.
However EVEMon have an annoying bug as it STILL downloading the corporate orders, it doesn't matter that you have switched off the download of the market orders.

anyway: there is a solution!
1. look at http://code.google.com/p/eveapiproxy/
2. you can change your hosts file (c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts)
insert the line "209.85.229.141 api.eveonline.com" without quotes.
this way, you can route the call to api.eveonline.com to 209.85.229.141 (which is the api proxy).
behind the scenes will this
http://eveapiproxy.appspot.com/eve/SkillTree.xml.aspx
become to this
http://api.eveonline.com/eve/SkillTree.xml.aspx
nice, hu?
and with this trick, all calls will be stored on the api proxy.

Turn off your EVEMon Market and Industry updates.
EVEMon is a character management tool, why they added Market and Industry to it bothered me. I simply turn them off and use the tools designed for Market and Industry to pull from the API.
If you really want, you can adjust EVEMons time on when to pull that information. A friend who uses EMMA, jEVEAssets, and EVEMon has EVEMon set to pull market orders once a day. I have EVEMon just not to update.
Change update frequency:-
Menu -> Tools -> Options -> General -> Updates
