How do you raise Faction Standing with Minmatar?
I've run lvl 2 missions for Republic Fleet and Security Services...that doesn't seem to make the Minmatar faction increase at all...only those corps' standing goes up.
I am stumped.
Please include..."You are a nub" in your reply. Thanks. |

You are a nub. You get a storyline mission every 16 normal missions - these increase your faction standing.

Increasing Minmatar faction standing... 4 easy steps.
1) Train social to 4(makes the increases larger). Then start working on connections to 4(bonus to standing to get agents to work with you).
2) Turn in copper tags and do curior mission at both the Minmatar and Gallente data centers.

No combat and small cargo, so do it in a shuttle. You can get the angels copper tags for 6 million(9x700k, try rens), and the serpentes copper tags for about 2 million (9x220K, try dodixie). You can get about 0.9 faction standing increase, if starting at 0, from doing the 6 copper tag and curior missions.
Do the higher level tags (Minmatar Brass, and most addition Gallente are too expensive for me to bother with) as standings permit.
3) If you lacked any starting faction standing and have no standing with the corps that issue COSMOS missions (see below), then you may have to do some tutorials. Each empire has 3 schools. Each school offers many 2-parters and 4 10-parters (business, industry, military and advanced military) that give faction increase. You can get a little over 1.2 increase if starting at 1 and finishing about 2.2 in faction standing if you were to do all 12.
You do not need to do all the tutorials to access the COSMOS agents.

4) COSMOS missions.
This is where the big boosts come from. The prior steps are just leg work to get the COSMOS agents to work with you. If you already have some faction, or corp standing with the corps that issue COSMOS missions, you could skip prior steps.

The guide is pretty good. It does have a few issues.
Ekdit Spitek mission 3: Hjoramold, gate Beta->gate Alpha.
Rozor Mothrus mission 3: Barkrik, He didn't know how to get Kutill's data chip. Answer is, you kill agent Kutill right there at the same beacon. It is scary as it looks like you will get CONCORDed from the popup... but nope. Able to kill the agent with no CONCORD response. (I did the Kutill missions fost incase she won't work with you after you've killed her.)

Great replies...did 8 more missions last night and boom: got the faction mission! It was a pretty good jump in Minmatar faction.
Thanks for the good info on the other ways...Tags, Cosmos...looks like I should do some training in that direction. [Learning skillz come first...FTL!  ]
