When you guys give ships to your corpmates for PVP or other uses, how do you go about doing this while limiting possible theft?
As I understand it, a corp can give a pilot access to the hangar bay and take what they want. God...so many horror stories in Crime Punishment about this. So to avoid that, what other way would you do this?

Have a few trusted people who are active in the corps with Hanger Rights!
Then Contract the ships to the pilot!
For POS's I am not sure!

No not really..
Do background checks on your corp members? Don't do a loans program and do a ship replacement program instead? Jus give them T1 crap that you dont care about if they happen to take it?

You could let all members have view access to that particular hangar, and let (trusted) directors/members take care of handing them out to the other members. This will limit the risk, although not remove it completely. It also limits ship availability to your directors' online hours.

Giving everybody access to the corp hangers from day one is a stupid idea.
If you're a small corp, set it up so that only you can take from the hangers, then people can ask you to take things out for them. Its not a viable strategy in larger corps since you'll probably be spread over more than one timezone, but that can be compensated by giving ~~trusted~~ directors access to it.
To be honest no matter how you set it up, you're still going to be vulnerable to theft, its just a matter of damage control.

Agreed but what about WH space? Not like your members can go to the nearest space station where they keep their stuff and ships?

As recruiter, I do background checks on all applicants. And I created a ship rental program . It's essentially a loan contract for a week.We issue multiple contracts and then whenever a member needs it, they just accept the contract and everyone's happy.
In emergency purposes where we need to mobilize for war or whatever, then the director will just transfer ship to said members.
The problem with ship replacement program with T1 crap is that it's just that. Crap! If we don't care enough for our own ships, why would they?
