Hiya guys! I finally broke down and purchased a second account. The 2nd Acct's main has finished all PI, is rapidly finishing up his training plan leading to hauling/freighters. So my thinking is to train up an alt on the 2nd acct for ONLY PI. I have played with EvEMon, but I would like input from other players before I commit to a plan.
Questions: 1) Does anyone have a plan optimized for this purpose? 2) More generically, is it worth burning some of the double training speed allotment for learning skills and/or cybernetic (for implants), or can I complete the PI stuff before my 2X training speed bonus runs dry?
Any ideas and comments are welcome. If this works, I may well train up PI on both 2nd acct alts.

Edited by: Meylota LeFey on 01/10/2010 19:33:53 You can easily train PI up to 4's while under the double-speed bonus. I have a 2nd character on my main account that was created solely for that purpose and it's only got about 800K skill points.
I just put the skills I wanted in to EVEMon and it suggested the learning skills to make it go faster. Science 3 was already a pre-req for remote sensing, so I tossed Cybernetics 1 in and added a set of +3 implants to make it that much faster as well. All told it took me a little over 12 days to train to use 5 planets and Advanced level command centers. I also included training the Mammoth industrial and the ability to fit T2 cargo expanders and cargo rigs on it as part of those 12 days.
Skill Plan looked something like this, but with the skills to fly the Minmatar Industrial and also the fitting skills for the cargo expanders added as well.
Science I Science II Science III Cybernetics I Instant Recall I Learning II Analytical Mind III Spatial Awareness I Presence I Presence II Presence III Remote Sensing I Command Center Upgrades I Command Center Upgrades II Command Center Upgrades III Command Center Upgrades IV Interplanetary Consolidation I Interplanetary Consolidation II Interplanetary Consolidation III Interplanetary Consolidation IV
As you can see, EVEMon suggested at least some learning skills to speed it up. Adding a set of +3 implants after getting cybernetics takes it down by nearly 36 hours to about 6 days of training in total under the double-speed bonus.

You can even get one level 5 PI skill and good planet scan skills before the end of 1.6m SP bonus. Add 15 more days if you want the 2nd PI skill at 5 :x
For Adv Planetology 3, Interplanetstuff 4 & Command Center upgrades 5 (or the other way around) I get (with 2 remaps, one at the start for learnings & scan skills and a 2nd one before starting the char/intel PI skills) : - 16d 8h with adv learnings (just logic) and +3 implants (only char/int/mem needed). - 16d 20h without training logic - 20d 19h without implants & adv learnings
Add probably about another day to it for hauling skills. __ Mining Crystals BPOs |

In my experience, time spent training Planetology and Adv. Planetology is wasted. You are going to the the "extractor crawl" no matter what, so these skills don't mean anything. This is why I left them off the plan I posted and why it only takes 6 days (more if hauler skills are added). And yes, I do have Adv. Planetology to 3 on my main, and I wish I didn't becuz then those wasted SP would be better used elsewhere. Only on 1 of his 5 planets is his setup actually in the "white zone" of the heat map. For the other 4 it's in the red or even the orange. Complete waste of training time. All you need is Remote Sensing I to be able to initiate a scan, and 1 light year is enough for the system you're in and usually 1 or 2 jumps in any direction (and if you're doing you're PI farther than that from your home base you're losing a lot of time hauling that could be better spent elsewhere). Most people wll fly to a system before scanning it anyway, making Remote Sensing I all you need.
Also, Elite CC's only add 2000 PG over an advanced, which over 5 planets translates to 10 (guaranteed) to maybe 15 (but more likely 12) more extractors/processors in total, but training a 6th planet (same training time) will get you 18 (guaranteed) to 20 (highly likely unless on a gas planet) extractors/processors. My suggestion is that if you are going to go for a level 5 skill, make it Interplanetary Consolidation -- it gets you more overall than Elite CC's do.
