I would recommend a Templar, the Amarr fighter, combat drone used by carriers. ---

Base damage is the same. Dragonfly matches the resist profile better (2/3 Kin 1/3 therm) than the Firbolg, but has worse tracking (although better range), and it's a little slower. I'd say it's pretty even really, with a very slight edge to the Dragonfly.
Malcanis' Law: Whenever a mechanics change is proposed on behalf of "new players", that change is always to the overwhelming advantage of richer, older players. |

Mind you, I've never actually used dragonflies...but I have always heard that they are THE one fighter NOT to use, ever.
Been hearing it for years, so I've never had a reason to actually try.
Something about them being too slow and reactivating their mwds over and over...

Dragonflies are fine. They have 0.0625 tracking while firbolgs have 0.1 tracking, but dragonflies have a 5000m optimal while firbolgs have only a 1500m optimal. Both have a 3500m falloff. All fighters have the same damage amount. You would think the tracking would matter but in reality it doesn't vs npc's once they settle in. It does matter against cruiser and especially HAC npc's but tbh you should be using garde/ogre II's against those anyways.
Thus far you shall read, but no further; for this is my sig. |
