Originally by: Gashblight I'd be more into an event like tardaclysm. We gather in the main trade hubs and their adjoining systems ganking scammers, spammers, and can flippers. The event would last 48 hours and in that time teams would gather points based on the type of griefer killed. Some sort of handicap would be imposed to even the odds so Team Jita wouldn't automatically win. Kill someone selling fully rigged invisible hulks and that team wins the grand prize. Condensed ****** tears.
No, good sir. Condensed ****** tears come from carebears like yourself when they make god-awful posts like that one. -------- Enemy corps raided into disbandment: Three.

Eve would do just fine without so many carebears, there are already too many and you would not affect the pvpers at all. Most pvp people have an alt tht makes the stuff they need, getting rid of alot of carebears is always a good idea, lots of them ruin the market anyway by playing with it and putting prices up.
I'm surprised nobody has pointed this out yet. I think it's hilarious that you think the industrialists (aka carebears apparently) push prices up. I'll give you a hint about what would happen if you all of a sudden prevented a bunch of goods from making it to market by ganking a ton of freighters: prices would go up.
Also, I don't care if you're a carebear or a hardcore PVPer with an industrial alt that makes stuff for you. What do you think will happen to your industrial alt if all the hardcore PVPers decide no more freighters will live? Your freighter will die. Even though you are not a carebear.

Well, it's official now!
àhmm. I need to pick up some BPs ù there's gold in them hills!

Of course they do ù it's the amount of them that push the price down. Also, unlike carebears, industrialists would love this kind of event due to the piles of cash they would stand to make. ùùù ôIf you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡à you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.ö ù Karath Piki |

Ever stop to think that those tens of thousands of carebears that are on at various times of the day provide the majority of steady cash inflow to CCP which allows them to operate and expand the game? Ever stop to think what the cost of playing this game for each account would be if you cut the number of carebear players out of this game that your self-involved mentality calls for? Are you real enough to admit when you started playing this game you were a carebear for awhile too and that as you evolved into the self righteous individual on this game that you are today, many of today's carebears will follow in your footsteps to believing that this game is just for them and no one else? You obviously aren't into economics and supply and demand calculations if you think getting rid of carebears will cause market prices to go down as that event would cause just the opposite. For that matter, why do you care about the effect of carebears on the market prices when you state that you and your kind make your own stuff anyway? WTF over?

I was pointing out that Mr. Ballsack was *****ing about carebears pushing prices up while advocating the removal of carebears, which would of course push price up through supply reduction.

You do realize that Hulkageddon isn't a PvP driven event, it's so that Goonswarm (the people that hold 2/3s of the Hulk BPOs) can make some money. Thats the only reason why prizes and such are offered, because they make a frickening killing off the event, after a few months people won't be providing prizes and the event will die off. Unless you can corner the freighter market.

Originally by: Orange Lagomorph Well, to start with, you'll need a catchphrase that doesn't plagiarize Hulkageddon.
Something like Freightricide or Freighterok or Freightpocalypse.
Gets my vote for a name. Very cool and funny.
But, I am told that it takes 12 BS's to gank a freighter, more if you "want to be sure". Who will put up sufficient prize money to make it worthwhile to have a dozen BS's per gank Concorded ? And on a regular basis? That's gonna add up fast...
AND, let's say you succeed in wiping out all freighters in Jita ... won't the merchants just pick a different system?
I have my converted Maelstrom for mining during Helkageddon. So I guess I'll figure something out for Freightricide.

You are also forgetting the lovely cargo being dropped that is worth something. And the fact the market will be affected so you can profit on that too. And if they pick different systems such as Rens (New Jita). That is also my desire to kill off Jitter :)
And you are forgetting the biggest reward of all time, tears and FUN!

Killing ships transporting goods to/from market sounds like a really well thought out plan. Tell everyone before it happens, when, where, what time etcetera. That way all the would-be pirates can drop mining and put on their space suits and holsters and team up for pew-pew. All the ninja's could whinge and the trolls could have a field day.
Would be better if the agressors kept it SECRET and organised an event, then executed it without preambling fanfare. That would take balls, presence of mind, planning, coordination, relational articulation and a certain amount of charisma.
Impactfull awareness would be awesome, not knowing when, where, or how until you came across the debris. That would be good. But sadly, most of the gankers and pirates that lurk in high sec have as much panache as the slime from a dried up dead garden slug after it has been mauled by a kitty kat.
I have my salvager ready, my hull is empty and I await with baited breath the debris fields and losers all chiming up with the one word, "Awesome".

Ahh yes the scaremongers come out. They said the same thing about Hulkageddon, but were all still here and the Eve universe didnt collapse in on itself.
PS: I own a Freighter and haul stuff, do you see me crying about it? I also mine at times in a Hulk, did I cry about hulkageddon? No, I went out and had fun with the rest.
Miners adapted, they gang tanked, freighters can haul with escorts.
Adapt or die, that is the game you bought.

Any one did a price study on high sec ore just before hulkageddon and during and after, funny that it almost coincided with the EVE alliance tourneys. I made a killing with my miner during that week from running missions then mining the veld in the mission areas cause the buy price went sky high... Do what you will I'll just sit back and watch the market and adjust fire on the prices again. Nothing says dedicated like taking a rigged and expanded Exquzzy to haul with instead of a Iten V or a Blisk.
